The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 2mm diameter Duramax cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft TA4-F connector for use with specific* Electro-Voice wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Zoom H6 Recorder Podcast Kit with 1 enCORE Microphone come with both products in their individual boxes? Anyone know the quality of the XLR cable included? Thank you.

A: Everything will come in its original packaging from the manufacturer. The quality of the XLR cable is the second best in the product line and will work great for most aplications.

Q: 2. Does this no longer come with a hard plastic case, foam windscreen, and mid-side mic capsule?

A: Yes, that is correct.

Q: 3. What is the maximum allowable input level on the H6 stereo mini jack?

A: Unfortunately that spec is not provided on the H6 from Zoom but you can contact them directly by phone or email on the following page to look into these details with Zoom Audio directly. https://zoomcorp.com/en/us/contact/

Q: 4. As it's a multitrack recorder, can the various tracks be exported and the levels changed on them separately after recording? Or is it a question of having to get the relative levels right at recording and then there is just one file after comprised of all tracks?

A: Each track is a separate Audio file, that are all the same length. In an audio program you can then sync them up instantly, and adjust levels (as well as add individual effects) for each track independently. It is still important to get a clean recording from all inputs (using the levels on the zoom device). But it is not imperative to have a perfect mix on the device, you get all the tracks as separate audio files

Q: 5. can this record car sounds when placed near the exhoust for example? or does it kill the mic

A: The RODE NTG3 Shotgun Microphone could be used to pickup sounds from the car, but I would not recommend leaving it too close to the exhaust as dirt and heat from the exhaust could permanently damage the mic.

Q: 6. Is this an H6 or H6n? What's the difference?

A: This is the Zoom H6. There is no Zoom H6n.

Q: 7. How do you choose the format for recording, either wave or mp3

A: It depends on what you are doing. WAV is a lossless, uncompressed, file, and so that would be the higher quality option. An MP3 is compressed, so it takes up much less space. Unless you're worried about space on the card, I would advise recording everything as WAV, you can always convert it later if you need MP3.

Q: 8. Can the back-up recording be used for any inputs or does it have to be only for the L/R mix? and if only for the L/R mix, is there a way to set the L/R mix to be the other inputs?

A: The back-up recording is only for the L/R mix.

Q: 9. Will this work with the mount for theTascam CA-XLR2d-C XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Canon Cameras? If so, would I need to purchase additional cables?

A: Yes, the Rode NTG3B Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone will fit in the microphone holder on the Tascam CA-XLR2d-C XLR Microphone Adapter Kit for Canon Cameras. The holder is compatible with microphone diameters between 19-23mm, and the NTG3B has a specified diameter of 19mm. A short XLR cable such as the Kopul Coiled 3-Pin XLR-M to Angled 3-Pin XLR-F Cable (BH #KOM4003RC) would be required to connect the microphone to the input on the CA-XLR2d-C: https://bhpho.to/3OYmI96

Q: 10. Is this a Lobar Pattern microphone?

A: A Lobar pickup pattern is commonly found in shotgun microphones and has the highest possible directionality, and can often be used interchangeably with "hypercardioid" and "supercardioid" pattern descriptions. However, both patterns are technically slightly less directional than the Lobar pattern, but Lobar is also much less commonly used by manufacturers to categorize their microphones' pickup capabilities. The NTG3B Moisture-Resistant Shotgun Microphone's pickup pattern is categorized as supercardioid.
