The MIDI protocol allows communication between a computer and a digitally controlled synthesizer (keyboard, drum machine, etc.) by transmitting how the notes are to be produced. A: I have a RRS BH-55 ball head. I put it on my pocket pod and it does indeed function the same as if it were on a larger tripod. As was already stated, even with the legs fully deployed, they do not touch the bottom of the BH-55 ball head.
