The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.
The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.
This version of the E6s is light beige and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Microdot connector for use with Sennheiser wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is this mic good for singing?
A: Hi Patrick - while the MKE 600 is an exceptionally versatile microphone for voice applications with respect to interviews, voice over and use cases that require a highly directional polar pattern, it wouldn't be my first choice for singing. Sennheiser offers a wide range of microphones for vocals and I'd direct you to one of our best sellers: e 835. Please feel free to reach out to B&H directly via chat, email or over the phone and I'm certain their team can help guide you once they have a better understanding of your specific application and needs.
Q: 2. How is this mic when used for indoor interviews on a boom?
A: You would connect it to a compatible shockmount and that shockmount would have the threading to screw onto the end of a boompole. Typically the threading for that is 3/8''.
Q: 3. Can I plug this into the Sony Fx9 without a battery and have it run off of the camera battery/phantom power? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be connected to an XLR input on the Sony PXW-FX9 Full-Frame Camera and activated using phantom power.
Q: 4. mke 600 work with pc if we use xlr to 3.5 without use any audio interface thanks
A: The MKE-600 can be used without an interface when using the mic with battery power and the proper cable adapter. Sennheiser offers properly wired adapter cables. These are recommended for connection to 3.5mm TRS or TRRS inputs.
Q: 5. I have a canon vixia HF G30 and I know you need to have a powered mic to give it enough output. Would this mic work with it converting the XLR to a 3.5mm plug??
A: Yes, there's an internal AA battery option on the mic to give you +48V
Q: 6. It says a windjammer is included in the description. Anyone know which brand/model?
A: The blimp is made by Rycote as is the windjammer.
Q: 7. Does this mic and an XLR to 3.5mm stereo plug record in stereo on the camera, or do you need to convert to dual mono in post production?
A: If you use the recommended Sennheiser cable KA600 the microphone signal will be recorded on both channels of the camcorder.
Q: 8. The XLR connector on the MKE 600 appears to be upside down, is this the case with all Sennheiser shotgun mics, or just the MKE 600?
A: Not sure what you mean by upside down, but the orientation of the XLR connector is irrelevant to the performance of the microphone.
Q: 9. The MKE 600 is shown taking 1.5 volt AA batteries. Can it handle a 3.7 volt AA lithium battery?
A: No, a 3.7V AA lithium battery is not compatible for use with the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone. Sennheiser recommends using only 1.5V or 1.2V single-use or rechargeable AA batteries with the MKE 600.
Q: 10. Wanting to know how well this mic "ignores" side noise. We do a lot of quick interviews in bars and brewery taprooms and our Audio-Technica AT875R attached to a Canon XA10 picks up a ton of noise off to the sides of of the mic and camera. Need something that mostly picks up what in front of it. Hoping this mic does?
A: Thereâs a good video on YouTube demonstrating the 875r, 897 and MKH60 and the 897 seemed to have the best off-axis rejection. https://youtu.be/XyGZA9FQudU
