The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Waterproof 2.5mm Sub-mini connector for use with Lectrosonics wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is effective in minimizing handling noise from fabric and wind

The mic comes with 3 interchangeable caps that provide you with a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response

The mic has a low sensitivity that is ideal for powerful vocal applications

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this mic have stereo recording?

A: No, this is a single mic and only has a monaural pickup pattern. If you want to do stereo recording you will need two of these great mics.

Q: 2. Would this work for a canon c200? I know it needs phantom power and I am unsure if the c200 has phantom power.

A: Yes, the Rode NTG3B can be used with a Canon C200. The camera is capable of supplying +48V phantom power for the microphone.

Q: 3. As it's a multitrack recorder, can the various tracks be exported and the levels changed on them separately after recording? Or is it a question of having to get the relative levels right at recording and then there is just one file after comprised of all tracks?

A: Each track is a separate Audio file, that are all the same length. In an audio program you can then sync them up instantly, and adjust levels (as well as add individual effects) for each track independently. It is still important to get a clean recording from all inputs (using the levels on the zoom device). But it is not imperative to have a perfect mix on the device, you get all the tracks as separate audio files

Q: 4. How do you choose the format for recording, either wave or mp3

A: It depends on what you are doing. WAV is a lossless, uncompressed, file, and so that would be the higher quality option. An MP3 is compressed, so it takes up much less space. Unless you're worried about space on the card, I would advise recording everything as WAV, you can always convert it later if you need MP3.

Q: 5. How well does the Rode NTG3 pair with the Tascam Dr-701D or Dr-70D? Is the quality of the results great to justify buying it or would I be better off getting an Audio Technica mic?

A: The NTG3 will pair well with either recorder. It is more a question of whether your project, style, or budget is suited/comfortable with this microphone. That said, Audio-Technica offers comparable microphones at a similar price point.

Q: 6. I want to record actors voices on set and on location with my Sennheisers with a recorder that can be mounted on the camera or on the tripod with the camera. Is the Zoom H6 appropriate to the job?

A: Yes, absolutely. The H6 has a built-in 1/4"-20 female mounting thread on the bottom which can be used to mount the recorder on a camera or to attach the H6 directly onto a tripod or stand by itself. For mounting the H6 to a camera, you can use a shoe mount adapter like the Revo Hot Shoe to 1/4"-20 Male Post Adapter (B&H # RESACS14M). If you are going to be using wireless microphones and also need to mount the wireless receivers on your camera, you can use a V-style shoe mount bracket like the Vello V-Rig 4.1" Triple Shoe Bracket (B&H #VECB415).

Q: 7. how can I fit this on my sonya7iii

A: You would need a shockmount to hold the mic, that has a cold shoe on it. Here's an example: AUDUSM1. Please note, this mic requires phantom power to run. You will need an external mixer/ recorder with XLR inputs and phantom power to use the mic. Here's an example: B&H # TADR60DMKII.

Q: 8. Can Zoom H5/H6 monitor both {mic inputs + Windows 10} simultaneously? I'd like to use XLR mics in my remote (virtual) presentations/meetings. I want to hear both myself (from the mic) and other attendees (system sound from Windows). In USB/interface mode, does the H5/H6 monitor jack simultaneously output (mix?) both my mic and Windows system sounds? Is that standard "interface" behavior? Do the H5 and H6 behave the same in this regard? (P.S. I wish to avoid "looping" or "overdubbing" or 3rd party mixers.) Thank you all kindly in advance.

A: Yes, but most video meeting software do not give you an option to monitor your own microphone signal.

Q: 9. What is the maximum allowable input level on the H6 stereo mini jack?

A: Unfortunately that spec is not provided on the H6 from Zoom but you can contact them directly by phone or email on the following page to look into these details with Zoom Audio directly. https://zoomcorp.com/en/us/contact/

Q: 10. Is there a big sound quality difference between the NTG2 vs. the NTG3?

A: There are certainly marked differences that warrant the wide price differences. The NTG3 is designed for the broadcast or film professional and is well suited for outdoor use. That said, the NTG2 is an excellent entry level shotgun and serves well for wedding and event videography as well. ------------- NOTE:-----------------The microphone features radio-frequency (RF) interference properties that avoid annoying noise and interference caused by nearby RF sources such as radio antennas, WiFi networks, internet devices, power lines, etc. The microphone is also built to withstand the rigors of adverse weather conditions.Of course special attention is paid to the accurate, directional pickup characteristics and its frequency response, sensitivity and low noise floor, which result in pristine audio quality. The NTG3 shotgun microphone is an ideal solution for outdoor ENG and studio applications.
