The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is tan and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 3-pin Lemo connector for use with Sennheiser wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone ever use this on a Canon Vixia HF G20?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone On Camera Kit is compatible with the Vixia HF G20, and works well. You will need an additional bracket to mount due to the Vixia not having a standard shoe mount. The Vello CB510 is a popular mount for the Vixia and attaches to the bottom of the camera. a href= http://bhpho.to/18xGmNT target= _blank http://bhpho.to/18xGmNT/a

Q: 2. What kind of screw size does it need to attach to a hot shoe adaptor or to mount on a boom pole?

A: To mount the MKE 600 on a boom pole you would need a 3/8" thread shock mount.

Q: 3. Will this fit on the Sony PXW-X70 Video Camera securely?

A: Having a quick look at that camera it should fit just fine. If it's loose you can always add foam or tape for a better fit. Cheers.

Q: 4. Does the mke 600 support plugin power?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be powered with a single AA battery or with 48V of phantom power, which is a much higher amount of voltage than plug-in power. Phantom power is delivered through an XLR mic input while plug-in power is typically 1 to 10V and it is delivered through a 3.5mm mic input. The MKE 600 will not work with plug-in power from a 3.5mm mic input, but will work with phantom power from an XLR mic input.

Q: 5. on which focal length you start see the mic in frame?

A: It depends on where you have the mic suspended or if you have it mounted to your camera.

Q: 6. Will this fit the microphone mount on the Sony FX6?

A: Yes. The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone BH #SEMKE600 will fit the microphone holder on the handle unit of the SONY FX6 cinema camera. Dimensions:ø: 0.79 x L: 10.08" / ø: 20 x L: 256 mm

Q: 7. I've had this mic for a few years. Suddenly, it's very hard to screw open the mic to replace the battery. Any suggestions?

A: If the screw is stripped, then you may want to replace it to avoid a continuing problem. If it is not stripped but just hard to remove, you can try coating the thread of the screw with a little bit of bar soap or wax to make it easier to turn and prevent the thread from sticking. Be careful and don't use too much because you don't want to create a mess or damage the electronics.

Q: 8. Will this work on the $299 Rode blimp windshield?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be used within the Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun Microphones (BH #ROBLIMPR).

Q: 9. It says a windjammer is included in the description. Anyone know which brand/model?

A: The blimp is made by Rycote as is the windjammer.

Q: 10. is it balanced mic? in both cases - phantom, battery?

A: I think you're asking if has a balanced input? If so, the answer is yes. With its power switch set to off , it takes phantom power from the mic cable. With the power switch set to on , it powers itself from an internal AA battery.
