The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a Switchcraft TA4-F connector for use with Vega wireless transmitters.

The mic comes with 3 interchangeable caps that provide you with a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response

The mic has a low sensitivity that is ideal for powerful vocal applications

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with the PMW-Z150?

A: Here is what Sony says. Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe to connect and control Sonys wireless mic systems or external light (both sold separately) So, I'd say it would certainly work.

Q: 2. Is there a Windscreen/ Foam Cover for this?

A: The RODE SoundField NT-SF1 Ambisonic Microphone comes with a furry wind cover included.

Q: 3. Can this send separate M and S channels to the sound recorder for decoding later in post?

A: It's decoded inside the mic. All you need is a Y cable 5 pin XLR to two 3 pin XLR's. This is the cable B&H # RECAXSTE you can find it on the B&H website.

Q: 4. will it work with CX550?

A: It comes with a short cable (stereo) that plugs into the Mic out port on the microphone and into a Mic in on your camera. Not sure if the mount (the proprietary Sony mount) fits the hotshoe on the CX550...since I don't have that camera, but if you have the Sony hotshoe mount, it should work.

Q: 5. dose it work with SONY PXW-Z190?

A: Yes, the ECM-XYST1M microphone does work with the Sony PXW-Z190 camera as both use Sony's multi-interface shoe.

Q: 6. Is it compatible with the Nikon D 7000

A: Not sure, but I would assume so. I have a D3200 and it works fine, especially on windy days with the feathers applied.

Q: 7. What would it be like paired with the Zoom H6 ? I have to Sony ECM-MS2 and it sounds flat no bass almost like a mono sound.

A: The Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder. For stereo audio on two channels, you would connect the mic to two XLR inputs on the H6 by using the included XLR 5-pin cable and an adapter such as the Sennheiser ACS5 5-pin XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y Cable for MKH418S and MKE44P Microphones (B&H # SEACS5) or by using a cable like the RODE NT4-DXLR Stereo 5-Pin XLR to Dual 3-Pin XLR Cable for NT-4 Fixed X/Y Condenser Microphone - 10.3' (B&H # RONT4DXLRCBL) or the Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable - 25' (B&H # RECAXSTE25).

Q: 8. Shoe is too large for my HDR-PJ 760 is there a work around?

A: Yes Sony change their shoe size however this adapter will convert it to fit the HDR-PJ 760 camera https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/913242-REG/sony_adpmac_shoe_adapter.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 9. Will this work with the XLR-K3M

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-678/9X Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter Kit.

Q: 10. When mounted on the SONY RX10 via the shoe this microphone disables the manual audio levels. Am I therefore correct in assuming that the RX10 is now recording with auto levels? But when I plug-in the included connecting cable in addition manual levels are once again usable. So when mounted to the shoe, with connecting cable plugged-in is the only way to use manual audio levels with the RX10?SONY offer no explanation as to what's actually happening here!

A: The way the mic works is correct and the only controls if using via the shoe are just what are on the mic itself. To get the other controls from the camera it needs to be attached via the mic jack.
