The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is cocoa and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking Mini connector for use with Sennheiser wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Shock mount

A: It comes with a basic shock mount; works okay on a boompole but might want to upgrade it for critical studio use.

Q: 2. What's the best model of Rycote shock mount for using this mic on a handheld boom? I don't want the heavy pistol-grip one.

A: The Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount, BH #R YINVHGMKIII , would be a good option for a shockmount for the Sennheiser MH 8060 shotgun mic. this shockmount id lightweight and features a lyre- style suspension, and would connect to a boom pole with a 3/8-inch thread.

Q: 3. Will this work with rechargeable batteries?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 400 Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone runs on AAA batteries, which can be either rechargeable or disposable.

Q: 4. on which focal length you start see the mic in frame?

A: It depends on where you have the mic suspended or if you have it mounted to your camera.

Q: 5. is it balanced mic? in both cases - phantom, battery?

A: I think you're asking if has a balanced input? If so, the answer is yes. With its power switch set to off , it takes phantom power from the mic cable. With the power switch set to on , it powers itself from an internal AA battery.

Q: 6. But when using the Softie will I still be able to use the shock mount? Also, what would be the best possible shock mount and softie to attach the 8060 on a camera.

A: Once the Sennheiser MKH 8060 Moisture-Resistant Short Shotgun Microphone is covered with the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen, there is still a few inches on the end of the mic for a shockmount. An alternative to the Auray DUSM-1 listed in this kit would be BH #RYINVONCAMSM Rycote InVision On-Camera Shockmount for Microphones & Cameras:https://bhpho.to/33wOtmB

Q: 7. Will this work on the $299 Rode blimp windshield?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be used within the Rode Blimp Windshield and Rycote Shock Mount Suspension System for Shotgun Microphones (BH #ROBLIMPR).

Q: 8. Is there anyway to use this with the Blackmagic Cameras via mini XLR?

A: Yes, you can connect the Sennheiser MKE 400 Shotgun Microphone to the mini-XLR input on Blackmagic cameras using a cable like the Kondor Blue Mini-XLR Male to Locking 3.5mm Stereo Cable for BMPCC 6K & 4K (B&H # KOMINIPLSBK).

Q: 9. If i want to use shotgun for VO, which is better. MKH416 or MKH8060? Which is more directional and reject side noise?

A: Both are good, the 416 is more directional, but it can be a bit too drastic in directionality if the subject even rocks around a bit it can be less forgiving, but the 416 will reject more side noise. The 8060 has a higher sensitivity.

Q: 10. How can I clean it when the sponge particles are sticking to the mic?

A: First of all the last thing you should be using to clean any condenser mic is any liquid and a sponge. You have a 416 a great mic don't ruin it. One of the recommended ways of of cleaning the ports and capsule mesh. Is to get a dry very soft tooth brush. Turn the mic upside down and gently start at the bottom and use the tooth brush to gently rub over the ports and work your way to the top.I find a natural soft Boar bristle tooth brush to be softer than your run of the mill plastic models. There is also a product called Microphome which seems to be garnering approval with the industry.
