The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is tan and comes with a 2mm diameter Duramax cable. It terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking Mini connector for use with Sony wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be connected to the Sony UTX-B03 transmitter?

A: Hi Landi M, Yes. The cable features a Sony 3-pole mini-jack with a stable lock mechanism for use with Sony UWP Series bodypack transmitters. Thanks, -Erin

Q: 2. Anyone know where to find replacement headbands for the ECM-322BMP? As I have just learned these little guys are easy to lose.

A: Hi David, to help you with this, we recommend sending an email to Sony Parts research: ProPartsResearch@am.sony.com or call 800-538-7550, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. ET, Monday - Friday. Regards, Erin

Q: 3. Length of XLR5 cable, please. And did you buy a supplemental wind screen?

A: We mounted the mic on our PDW-700 using the front port so we got the smallest cable(about 12 ) and we used the basic windscreen that just slides on with no extra fuzzy muff - we are inside 99% of the time.

Q: 4. whats the difference between the Sony ECM 678, now discontinued mic and the new Sony ECM 678/9x shotgun mic?

A: The available documentation from Sony shows identical specifications for both mics. The only mentioned difference would be in the included accessories, with the ECM-678/9x a short XLR cable is provided for connection to the camera.

Q: 5. can you plug headphones straight into the this microphone? what is hiding under, what from the photos looks to be, panels on the side of this unit? thanks

A: Headphone cannot be connected. There is no headphone/monitor port.

Q: 6. anyone with experience with ECM-680S and a current on camera mike like ECM-B1M or ECM-M1? What's the difference in camera noise?

A: The Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone, when properly mounted in a shock mount, should pick up less handling noise than on-camera mics with a solid mount such as the Sony ECM-B1M.

Q: 7. What wind muff (dead cat) can I purchase to suit the Sony ECM-GZ1M?

A: Unfortunately, we have no wind protection or dead cats that are compatible for use with the Sony ECM-GZ1M Zoom Microphone.

Q: 8. Would this be compatible with the Sennheiser ew100 G-series transmitter (I have the G4)?

A: Sony headsets are not compatible with Sennheiser wireless due to different wiring schemes. For a similar low profile headset for Sennheiser, here's an option BH #GAHS8OBG4MXD.

Q: 9. Will this work well with the Sony XLR-K3M and a Sennheiser 5 pin to 3 pin y cable for stereo inputs to Channels 1-2

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone could be used with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter and 5-Pin to dual 3-Pin XLR cable in the manner described.

Q: 10. Can this send separate M and S channels to the sound recorder for decoding later in post?

A: It's decoded inside the mic. All you need is a Y cable 5 pin XLR to two 3 pin XLR's. This is the cable B&H # RECAXSTE you can find it on the B&H website.
