The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 2mm diameter Duramax cable. It terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking Mini connector for use with Sony wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this be compatible with the Sennheiser ew100 G-series transmitter (I have the G4)?

A: Sony headsets are not compatible with Sennheiser wireless due to different wiring schemes. For a similar low profile headset for Sennheiser, here's an option BH #GAHS8OBG4MXD.

Q: 2. Will this work with the XLR-K3M

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-678/9X Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter Kit.

Q: 3. How does this mic behave in humid recording conditions ?

A: This is a robustly built microphone, but SONY does not offer any weather or humidity ratings.

Q: 4. Will this work well with the Sony XLR-K3M and a Sennheiser 5 pin to 3 pin y cable for stereo inputs to Channels 1-2

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone could be used with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter and 5-Pin to dual 3-Pin XLR cable in the manner described.

Q: 5. Hello,It is possible to use this mic on spectacle, theater, contest, show that the loudspeakers are relatively close and or should not have feedback (Larsen) ?

A: Hi there! The ECM-322 is a headset ONMNI mic, and an Omni mic cannot (by design) isolate sound sources in a specific direction. If it gets strong enough signal, it will deliver that to the speaker and feedback will result. Good speaker placement is also key in this equation. The more you can get the mic/talent OFF speaker axis (farther from directly in front) - the more HF will be attenuated naturally and the whole system will be less sensitive to feedback. Best regards, Erin

Q: 6. How would you compare this to the Sennheiser 418s?

A: Hi Jesse R, The ECM680S is one of Sonys best shotgun microphones. It is switchable between mono and stereo and I don't believe that is something the Sennheiser does. I would also say that at almost half the price of the Sennheiser it is an excellent value. Ralph

Q: 7. what are the dimensions of the lens, please? how far does the lens protrude from the lens mount? thank you.

A: The TTArtisan 50mm f/2 Lens for Leica L (Black) is 1.38x1.95x1.95".

Q: 8. Length of XLR5 cable, please. And did you buy a supplemental wind screen?

A: We mounted the mic on our PDW-700 using the front port so we got the smallest cable(about 12 ) and we used the basic windscreen that just slides on with no extra fuzzy muff - we are inside 99% of the time.

Q: 9. anyone with experience with ECM-680S and a current on camera mike like ECM-B1M or ECM-M1? What's the difference in camera noise?

A: The Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone, when properly mounted in a shock mount, should pick up less handling noise than on-camera mics with a solid mount such as the Sony ECM-B1M.

Q: 10. What would it be like paired with the Zoom H6 ? I have to Sony ECM-MS2 and it sounds flat no bass almost like a mono sound.

A: The Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder. For stereo audio on two channels, you would connect the mic to two XLR inputs on the H6 by using the included XLR 5-pin cable and an adapter such as the Sennheiser ACS5 5-pin XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y Cable for MKH418S and MKE44P Microphones (B&H # SEACS5) or by using a cable like the RODE NT4-DXLR Stereo 5-Pin XLR to Dual 3-Pin XLR Cable for NT-4 Fixed X/Y Condenser Microphone - 10.3' (B&H # RONT4DXLRCBL) or the Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable - 25' (B&H # RECAXSTE25).
