The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is tan and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking Mini connector for use with Sony wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Length of XLR5 cable, please. And did you buy a supplemental wind screen?

A: We mounted the mic on our PDW-700 using the front port so we got the smallest cable(about 12 ) and we used the basic windscreen that just slides on with no extra fuzzy muff - we are inside 99% of the time.

Q: 2. How do yo export your video in premiere pro with this mic? You change the frequency of 48k?

A: Thank you for your question. The audio recorded on this microphone will embed the audio onto the video file the same as the onboard mic

Q: 3. Apologies for an unresolved googling, Is this compatible with my still fabulous Sony PXW-Z90 camcorder in digital mode?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-B1M Camera-Mount Digital Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony PXW-Z90 Camcorder when set for digital mode.

Q: 4. Is this compatible to Sony a6000?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Camera-Mount Vlogger Shotgun Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony a6000 Mirrorless Camera. The ECM-G1 offers cable-free and battery-free connection to Sony cameras via its Multi-Interface Shoe and also provides a wired analog 3.5mm TRS output for compatibility with cameras that do not include the MI Shoe.

Q: 5. Will this work well with the Sony XLR-K3M and a Sennheiser 5 pin to 3 pin y cable for stereo inputs to Channels 1-2

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone could be used with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter and 5-Pin to dual 3-Pin XLR cable in the manner described.

Q: 6. Hi, Will it work with FX3?

A: The ECM-B1M is not compatible with the FX3. It is designed to work with Sony cameras that have the multi-interface shoe.

Q: 7. If using with a SONY camera through the MI hot show, can you also plug in a lav mic receiver to get shotgun & lav together?

A: In most cases, the analog 3.5mm input on Sony cameras is disabled when using the MI Shoe connection with a microphone such as the Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Camera-Mount Vlogger Shotgun Microphone. Both connections do not typically function at the same time.

Q: 8. Is this an appropriate mic for use with a GoPro Hero Black 9?

A: The Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Camera-Mount Vlogger Shotgun Microphone can be connected to the GoPro HERO9 Black if used together with the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter (B&H # GO35MA) or the GoPro Media Mod (B&H # GOMMH9B), which will add a 3.5mm mic input to the camera.

Q: 9. Can this microphone output to both an MI Shoe and 3.5mm Jack simultaneously?

A: No, the Sony ECM-G1 does not output via 3.5mm analog jack and MI shoe at the same time.

Q: 10. I get that the digital is compatible with only a couple of cameras but works in analog for other cameras with multi-interface shoe. But what exactly do I lose on analog? Is the sound quality different and do the directional patterns change?

A: This unit has 3 pickup pattern options to choose from, Cardioid, Omni, and Supercardioid. The big difference between digital versus analog operation is that in digital mode, the audio source being picked up doesn't have to go through additional analog converters to be printed to the video. This allows for cleaner audio recordings. If digital audio is not available on your camera, the analog connection will still produce quality audio recordings.
