The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is cocoa and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 4-pin Lemo connector for use with Telex wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'd like to see a picture of the custom shockmount. And I'd like to clamp this to a Manfrotto extension boom https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1364396-REG/manfrotto_mboomcfvr_mus_virtual_reality_carbon_fiber.html. Can anyone recommend the parts to do so?

A: The Auray 5/8" Male to 3/8" & 1/4"-20 Female Combo Reversible Thread Adapter (Steel), BH #AUADCOMBOS would adapt the shock mount to the Manfrotto extension boom.

Q: 2. how can I add a 50-foot cable to the NT-SF1?

A: I use 2 and 4 channel sub snakes with an XLR fanout at each end, typically 25' in length. Thats usually long enough. to reach a stage box. The fewer separate cables to run, the less to hide or tape down (and roll up).

Q: 3. whats the difference between the Sony ECM 678, now discontinued mic and the new Sony ECM 678/9x shotgun mic?

A: The available documentation from Sony shows identical specifications for both mics. The only mentioned difference would be in the included accessories, with the ECM-678/9x a short XLR cable is provided for connection to the camera.

Q: 4. What is a suggestion for a case?

A: You can use the Auray WMC-500 Wide-Mouth EVA Case (B&H # AUWMC500) to store and protect the Zoom M3 MicTrak Stereo Shotgun Microphone and Recorder.

Q: 5. This wouldn't be able to connect with a Zoom F3 correct as it is a 2 track recorder. This mic requires 4 tracks?

A: For full ambisonic recording with the RODE SoundField NT-SF1 microphone, you would need to record 4 tracks of audio. I would recommend considering the Zoom F6: https://bhpho.to/2YDC3S4

Q: 6. I bought this mic, but I noticed that the channel 4 record level is significantly lower than 1-3. is this normal? or do I have a defective mic? I'm recording on a zoom F6 set for ambisonic recording.

A: It may be, but first make sure that each of the 4 input gain settings on the recorder are the same. If they are, just switch one of the known working channels to the one that seems to be lower and see if you get the same result. If so, you may have a defective mic.

Q: 7. Does this microphone have the standard protection IP67?

A: No, Rode has not provided an IP rating for the NT-SF1. This microphone is not water-resistant or waterproof.

Q: 8. Will this work well with the Sony XLR-K3M and a Sennheiser 5 pin to 3 pin y cable for stereo inputs to Channels 1-2

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-680S M/S Stereo Shotgun Microphone could be used with the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter and 5-Pin to dual 3-Pin XLR cable in the manner described.

Q: 9. How long is the cable that it comes with?

A: The cable is 9.8 feet (3 meters).

Q: 10. will this microphone work with a macbook pro?(late 2016)

A: Yes it will. You will just need a standard USB connection on the Macbook Pro for it to work.
