The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 4-pin Lemo connector for use with Telex wireless transmitters.

Q: 1. Is there a Windscreen/ Foam Cover for this?

A: The RODE SoundField NT-SF1 Ambisonic Microphone comes with a furry wind cover included.

Q: 2. I have a 16" mac book pro with only usb-c/thunderbolt 3 ports. Does the NTG is compatible with that? i want to use it for record some intruments and podcast.

A: Yes it is compatible with yur computer. Plug the VideoMic NTG into your computer, smartphone, or tablet via USB to use it as a digital USB microphone for direct recording to your favorite software. Its integrated analog-to-digital converter operates at 24-bit / 48 kHz to provide full-resolution, uncompressed audio quality. A USB Type-A to USB Type-C Cable is included in the box.

Q: 3. How long is the cable that it comes with?

A: The cable is 9.8 feet (3 meters).

Q: 4. With the Rode SC-15 Cable, does it have a (female) 5mm socket to connect the output of the mike toward the lightning plug? i.e. Sennheiser MKE 600 to Apple smartphone.

A: The SC-15 cable has a Male USB-C to Male Lighting connector. This cable is used to connect the USB-C output of the mic to the lightning connection in on an iOS device.

Q: 5. How can I monitor the output through headphones if I'm using the 3.5mm to connect to my Canon 80D?

A: This mic connects to the 3.5mm mic input of your Canon EOD 80D camera, and monitoring would be done from the headphone output of the camera.

Q: 6. I bought this mic, but I noticed that the channel 4 record level is significantly lower than 1-3. is this normal? or do I have a defective mic? I'm recording on a zoom F6 set for ambisonic recording.

A: It may be, but first make sure that each of the 4 input gain settings on the recorder are the same. If they are, just switch one of the known working channels to the one that seems to be lower and see if you get the same result. If so, you may have a defective mic.

Q: 7. How would you compare this to the Sennheiser 418s?

A: Hi Jesse R, The ECM680S is one of Sonys best shotgun microphones. It is switchable between mono and stereo and I don't believe that is something the Sennheiser does. I would also say that at almost half the price of the Sennheiser it is an excellent value. Ralph

Q: 8. Can audio recorded with this mic be used in Davinci Resolve? Do you use the plugin or something else?

A: Thank you for your question. In the Fairlight tab of Resolve you can pan the 4 recorded audio channels to create a 360 degree audio experience. .

Q: 9. I have the Rode videomic pro for my DSLR camera. Would this Rode NTG microphone provide better sound recording when shooting videos?

A: The specifications on the two mics are very similar, and the tonal characteristics will be similar, too. The big difference is that the Video Mic Pro can handle a higher SPL, and is a bit more sensitive.

Q: 10. Hi. Tell me plz, can I record this mic output to the zoom h6? Thank you!

A: Yes, you can. You will record all four tracks separately and then in your DAW position each in the ambiosonic space you desire.
