This Circular Polarizer II Filter from Nikon is a 52mm multicoated filter that minimizes flare and glare, providing increased saturation and clearer images that are crisp and have more contrast.

The polarization effect is visible in the viewfinder or on the LCD screen as the front ring is rotated. When shooting on a bright day, the saturation of a blue sky may be controlled, which enhances the definition of cloud formations. In addition, when shooting into water, the reflections often associated with landscape or scenic photography may be minimized or eliminated. A circular polarizer is an essential tool for landscape photography. When shooting through a glass window, museum showcase, or car window, reflections and glare will be reduced allowing the subject behind the glass to be captured. This slim filter ring design allows this filter to be used on wide-angle lenses with a reduced potential for vignetting the image corners.

A: Dear Eugene S, Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. The Sigma 8mm DG lens will give you a circular image only on a 24x36mm or Full-Frame format. For a camera with an APS-C size, like your Canon 7D, you need to look at the Sigma 4.5mm F2.8 DC Circular fisheye. : a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/535757-USA/Sigma_486_101_4_5mm_f_2_8_EX_DC.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/535757-USA/Sigma_486_101_4_5mm_f_2_8_EX_DC.html/a

A+ for water photos on the ocean or the lake.

Have B+W Kaesmann 77mm slim circ polarizer - problem was that it had no way to attach a lens cap over it when on the lens. Also threads were loose enough to cause the filter to fall from the lens into dirt, ruining the filter. Terrible case. The Nikon slim 77 CP accepts a normal Nikon pinch lens cap!!! and seems to stay on the lens much better. I can't discern any difference in quality between the two. Good carrying case (stays shut)

This filter is very thin, doesn't add any distortion, keeps the photos sharp and clear. The colors seem more intense with the filter.

I am using my filter to take exterior landscape and wildlife pictures. I feel that the filter is easy to use and adds more depth to the pictures. I will be going to Alaska soon and know it will help with the water and snow.

I got this filter for my 17-40mm lens. The fact that it's a slim is great and no vignetting trouble at all. Unlike other slims I've seen it also has front threads which means I can still use the regular lens cap. The quality of the product itself is great. All around it's a great product. Ironic, considering I'm a Canon shooter. I highly recommend this.
