A: The tripod can easily hold it. The issue you'll face is the ball head. Assuming that you want to keep the weight light, you'll want a lightweight head, too. Whichever one you get, make sure it can handle the weight of the body and lens. Keep in mind that the lens acts as a lever. That lens, especially with filters attached will cause many lesser heads to creep. FWIW, I use a Really Right Stuff BH-30, Canon 70D and (among others) a Canon 100-400 (old model) with no problem

So if you want the vantage point (eye level view) to be from roughly 54", this would be perfect, if not I would look for a taller tripod.
