Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I just purchased a ruggard cabinet. When I plug it in nothing happens Dothe lights on control panel come in when plugged in?

A: You would have to press the light bulb icon button located the top right of the cabinet to trigger the lights.

Q: 2. What are the interior dimensions of this (80L) cabinet?

A: 17.7 x 12.9 x 21.1 / 45.0 x 32.9 x 53.5 cm

Q: 3. What is the interior dimensions of this 120 l unit?

A: The interior dimensions are; depth 13.5" width 14" height 34.5"

Q: 4. Have had this unit for about a week. Very nicely built unit but the inside has a "plastic" smell - almost like a styrofoam cup smell. Has anyone else had this and does it go away ? I am concerned it is off gassing that might get on lenses.

A: The plastic smell in the Ruggard EDC-80L Electronic Dry Cabinet (80L, Black) BH #RUEDC80L is common and it goes away with time. You can keep the cabinet open for a couple of days and the smell would go away. The smell will not effect lenses.

Q: 5. Can this run on 12 volt DC? If so, do you think I could keep this on a 38 foot sailboat without draining my batteries?

A: Unfortunately, the EDC-50L cannot run on 12 volt DC.

Q: 6. Can this dry cabinet be used to store items like stamps or coins etc?

A: Yes, anything that needs a dry environment will benefit by this cabinet.

Q: 7. Is a dry cabinet like this appropriate for preventing condensation forming on gear that I've used for hours in below freezing weather - like chasing auroras or other astrophotography in subfreezing temperatures for hours?

A: The Ruggard Electronic Dry Cabinet would not work for your stated usage needs. It is designed to protect your equipment from dust, dirt, and moisture and to regulate the interior's relative humidity to help prevent fungus and corrosion from damaging your gear, and it is designed for indoor storage usage. Condensation or frost is caused by the combination of indoor/outdoor temperature differences, indoor/outdoor humidity differences, and the dew point. Your issue would be moving your equipment from outdoor freezing conditions into the warmer indoor conditions inside the cabinet would still run the risk of condensation/frost if you take your equipment out of the case you used to transport the equipment indoors. The rapid temperature difference and dew point is the cause of condensation/frost. If you will place your wrapped equipment inside a case that you had with you in the freezing conditions, and keep your camera equipment INSIDE the case and place it inside the Ruggard Electronic Dry Cabinet, then allowing time for the temperature inside the case to warm up slowly without opening it, then this would work and would regulate the humidity inside the cabinet. I would still recommend waiting approximately 12 hours so the temperatures can equalize before exposing your camera to the warmer air.

Q: 8. Can the shelves be pulled-out to access whats on the back of shelf? What s the total number of shelves? Are the shelves adjustable height wise?

A: The shelves are removable and adjustable.

Q: 9. How sturdy is the cabinet, can I store stuff on top of this? Any specification on what's the max load cabinet top can handle? I have limited real estate, so I tend to stack stuff vertically alot.

A: The top of the Ruggard Electronic Dry Cabinet (80L) is not designed for load bearing, and there have been no tests done to find a load capacity for the top of the cabinet. If you wish, you may try placing a 1/2-inch to a 3/4-inch piece of plywood on top of the unit to disperse or spread out the load of items placed on top of the cabinet, but we have no load capacity specifications for the top of the cabinet.

Q: 10. Can you stack these on top of one another? I want to buy another one, but I also dont want to sell the one that I currently have.

A: Yes, you can stack them, just make sure the top one is secure and won't slide off.

I mounted a webcam to this tripod for Skype conference calls. I was concerned that it would only be firm in the lowest position (height). But to my surprise it is easily adjustable, easy to level...and will stay put at different heights. Excellent tripod and good looking as well!

Great as a hand grip for LED lighting too... a surprisingly well made peice of equipment for the money.Ball head and trigger work well. I put a shot of WD-40 into the ball head to loosten it up a bit.Definately reccomend it, bought a couple of them. Have quite a few of the Manfrotto Tripods as well as Schactler larger head products.Again for the money, these are a solid investment - great with Go-Pros etc

got this tripod couple of weeks ago based on the good products that Manfrotto creates as well as an owner of one of the pro manfrotto tripods, since then it doesn't leave my pocket. I even use it for reading or browsing on my iPhone. note that this product is intended to be used with smart phones or small cameras, it does not hold big cameras such as Canon/Nikon pro series - I have tried it on my 7D, and the result wasn't good.

I was looked for a mini tripod to serve to needs that I had. First I wanted something small enough that I could take with me anywhere without thinking twice about, it need to be sturdy enough to hold my camera still when I set it up and lastly something that I could use to study the camera when holding it handheld and performed all these tasks great. Not to mention it looks great .

Using this with the EOS-M. It's sturdy and well balanced. Also great for photos or just hand holding while shooting video. I would recommend the Pixi Mini to anyone wanting a great quality mini tripod.

I brought this tripod to mount my speedlight. I had another mini tripod that was only good for my sub-compact camera, it didn't fair well with my speed light. This tripod is perfect for my speedlight, in fact it will hold my dslr without any problem. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one to mount a second speedlight. The ball is a little stiff, but I think it will loosen up with further use. So far I have used it in an anatomy lab to take pictures of specimens. I performs flawlessly.

Small, lightweight, ideal for travel. Great for mirrorless systems & film cameras like Nikon fm2(not good for dlsr and heavy lenses!). If, on a trip, you do not want to carry heavy tripods, this is the right product.
