This is a good clapboard. Arrived safely in a huge box with lots of bubblewrap so you don't have to worry about damage during delivery. It works well, does its job, feels light, and has a magnet so that the clapper remains safely closed during shooting. I didn't want a clapboard that was slightly transparent, but then again, extra material adds to the weight. I also don't like the way the letters are placed because it loses its classic feel, but there's more space to write. Even though there are cheaper clapboards on @, you get what you pay for. This clapboard is reliable and will last you a long time.

I'm a student and just starting to delve into recording audio separately. In looking at reviews, I decided to pay a little bit more for this slate and I wasn't disappointed. It's seems well made. The letters are deeply engraved. It wipes off nicely. Seems like a good buy.

It works. Picks up fuzz easily often having to wipe off.

At first, i thought it was a cheap clapper. But at that price the slate surprised me, it's made with hard material, the colors seems that it gonna last long, and the letters are carved on the acrylic. So, it helps a lot if you're filmming anything, it looks good on camera and the sound of the clapper it's loud and helps to adjust sound and video.

I discovered how absolutely necessary it is to have a clapper when filming a movie. I didn't use a clapper or anything on an early film and when it came time to edit, I quickly realized I couldn't easily or quickly match the clips. To complicate matters, the date and time were not set correctly on my camera or audio capture deviceand they were both set to different timesso I couldn't even sync tracks based on date or time. If only I had a production slate and used it at the beginning of each take. Never again will I forget that. You can find a production slate cheaper, but this one is really a quality piece. It makes a nice, loud sound and it makes finding and matching the right clips much quicker.

Solid clapper, all I need in a slate shy of time code. If you don't need TC, this is more than enough to meet your sync needs.

I use this while shooting small short films and this slate works great and is good quality. I recommend to purchase the case with it as well, to help protect the slate. It is also nice to store the marker.

Bought this for a kids birthday party hoping it would make a great clapping sound to encourage the kids to clap for Flappy The Clown. DOES NOT SOUND LIKE CLAPPING HANDS! It does work well at slating scenes in film making though, so I guess I will keep it.
