The beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sens, with Hardwired TA3F Connector for AKG Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to an AKG DPT700, PT40, PT45, PT60, PT61, PT80, PT81, PT400, PT450, PT470, PT2000, PT4000, or PT4500 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do I input the stereo mini plug (3.5mm) from a Rode Video mic or similar . I actually only want to use it as a mono source. Do I need a mini to XLR adapter?

A: If you wish to connect to a source with an XLR input than yes you will need an adapter. Otherwise you can plug into the standard 3.5mm jack with the included wire and choose to only use one channel.

Q: 2. When recording nature, bird calls, ocean sounds etc should the low cut filter be used? If so what would the best setting be?

A: Depending on what you are recording, the settings needed can vary in different environments and when using different microphones so it's best to monitor the audio through headphones while recording and always do some testing to see what settings work best each time. The low cut filter can help to reduce noise when recording nature sounds, but it's always beneficial to experiment first and record a few samples to find out what works best with your recording setup in a particular environment. There is a lot of helpful information available on the internet that you can find by searching "How to record nature sounds" or be more specific and search "How to record bird calls" or "How to record ocean sounds."

Q: 3. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?

A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.

Q: 4. How does this unit's preamp compare to a Sound Devices MM-1, Mix Pre-d or 302?

A: Preamps are great. No difference between them and the preamps on my Soundcraft and Mackie boards./

Q: 5. Can you recharge rechargeable AA batteries in the Tascam or do you have to recharge separately?

A: You will have to recharge batteries out of the recorder on a seperate wall charger.

Q: 6. Has anyone tried the built-in mic? Is it good? Compare to the Zoom H6's built-in mic? Thanks

A: Its not bad! I wouldn't use it as a primary mic, but its good for nat sound and stuff like that. Its a little better than the h4n built in mic. I havent used the h6

Q: 7. Is there a manual control for audio gain up or down on the DSLR mini 1/8 output?

A: The Tascam DR-70D does not feature an output level control knob for adjustment. In order to adjust level going into your camera, you will have to access this feature from the menu.

Q: 8. Setting up the input gain on my recently purchased TAscam DR-70D.If I want to use the built in mics do I set input gain to line or mic?

A: You set the input to MIC for 3 / 4 and then have and option of low high or high+ for the gain.I find that high works for most situations rather well. High+ is pretty hot -

Q: 9. Can any one recommend a shotgun mic for me to best work with this device? (under $400) Right now, I am looking at NTG2 and MKE600, which one is better? Or any other suggestions. The use of the mic will be very mixed. voice over, conversations, field recording...Thanks a lot.

A: In a quiet room set up close to the speaker, yes, it's a very good mic. I use it for street interviews, and back up audio in controlled environment interviews (indoors).

Q: 10. Does the screen fold flat on the recorder or is it fixed in the angled position?

A: The screen is fixed in the angled position.
