Q: 1. Is this the correct bulb for Sony vpl-vw90es? My book says the amp-h201 is what I need.

A: Hey Anne S. How does this loan only fit a vol-vw90es when the listing states two other models??

Q: 2. How can I use this drive on a computer that only has USB and Firewire connections?

A: You cannot. It will only work on a computer that supports Thunderbolt, or Thunderbolt 2.

Q: 3. Does this plate have the 8-pin power connector for the back of the 703 or is it just a gold mount plate?

A: Yes, there is an 8-pin power connector on the back of the SmallHD 703 Monitor.

Q: 4. Can you replace or swap out the drives in the future? or if one fails?

A: Yes, it is only important that you used matched drives. The unit has currently been tested with up to 12TB drives.

Q: 5. Does this connect via the proprietary ports in the back of the monitor or do you need to use the ptap port?

A: The SmallHD Battery Plate uses a Molex connector on the back of the monitor.

Q: 6. If I remove the disks as the are filled, can rebuild the same raid without loose the files?

A: If you had the G-Technology G-RAID Thunderbolt 2/USB 3.0 8TB array setup in RAID 1, and a drive failed, you would be able to replace the failed drive and rebuild the array without loss of data. If you were using the array in RAID 0, or JBOD, you would see data loss.

Q: 7. Can you daisy these and have access to other raid configurations besides just 0,1 and JBOD?

A: Yes you can and raid 5 would also work for an OWC but no support to power a Mac.

Q: 8. What is the warranty period for this drive?

A: This will come with a 3-Year Limited Warranty from the manufacturer.

Q: 9. How difficult is it to change the configuration from RAID 0 RAID 1?

A: It's not straightforward at all. I had to call the company to be walked through the process but they were very helpful.

Q: 10. What's the default password for the G-Raid Configurator utility? I can't reformat it and their support site is awful

A: The G-Raid Configurator does not require a password for the drive. It is most likely requesting an administrator username, and password for your computer. This would be the same password required to install applications, or make system changes.
