The 138mm #47 Blue Filter from Tiffen is a filter designed to build contrast in black and white photography and creating separation between the tones. For landscape photography the filter will enhance haze and fog, which creates a more dramatic look. Skin tones are lightened for more detail and contrast control. Normally, the filter is intended for B&W photography, but can also be used in color photography to make special effects. The filter has a filter factor of 4.5, so you must increase by 2 1/3 of a stop for your exposure to compensate.

Tiffen filters are not dyed, but are manufactured by using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass and grinding down and polishing the glass. The glass is finally mounted to the metal ring, which could finally be screwed onto the lens for the desired effect.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I mount the 33 with just one tripod? I shoot with sony A7II, the heaviest lens goes on the camera would be the Sony 70-200 f4 FE lens.

A: You definitely should consider using two tripods for this.

Q: 2. Does it come with a case of any sort?

A: It doesn't. I'm using an old tripod case currently.

Q: 3. Will this work with a westcott fj400?

A: Yes, Godox Octa Softbox with Bowens Speed Ring and Grid (47") is compatible with the Westcott FJ400.

Q: 4. Will the slider trigger my Nikon D850 for Timelapse control? I want them synchronized.

A: Please add the following shutter cable to your purchase to control the Nikon D850 when using the GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider. Vello 2.5mm Remote Shutter Release Cable II for Cameras with Nikon 10-Pin Connectors BH #VERCC2N125

Q: 5. what's the difference between this and GVM GP-120QD model? Only IOS/Android APP support?

A: The most notable difference between the GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider (47-) (GVMSLIDER120) and the GVM GP-120QD (GVGP120QD) Motorized Carbon Fiber Video Slider (48") is that GVMSLIDER120 can be controlled via app and that GVGP120QD is controlled with a wired remote. GVMSLIDER120 is also listed at 47" and GVGP120QD at 48".

Q: 6. We lost the mounting hex screws for the feet. Can someone who owns this let me know the size of those screws? (Length and thread size)

A: I will try to determine that for you. Might take me a few days. That being said - Would be a lot easier for you to take the feet to Home depot and try to find a fit that way. Just go to the hardware aisle...

Q: 7. I'm assuming you set up your lighting around the outside of the box and the lights penetrate through the box? Never used one before.

A: That is correct. The fabric material used with the Impact Digital Light Shed - Jumbo (47 x 47 x 47") is translucent and designed to both transmit and soften light. You would set the light outside the light tent, shining the light onto the exterior fabric, and the fabric diffuses the light, providing soft, even lighting on the subject inside the tent. You can control the light by varying the distance between the light and the softbox.

Q: 8. How quiet is this slider?

A: The GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider motor can be heard at higher speeds and in time lapse mode there is a clicking sound.

Q: 9. Would you recommend this product for very small items? What's the smallest item you would recommend shooting in this shooting tent?

A: We shoot small items around 3 x3 x3 we really bought this one to accommodate the occational 30 x30 x30 item. anything bigger and you have to photoshop the seams out. but anything smaller it is great for. we used some cheap flood lights from Home depot for the first shoot but have upgraded to

Q: 10. How does the slide work? Is there a mechanism to move it, or do you just have to slide the camera by hand?

A: You slide it by hand. This being my forst slider Im very impressed with how it works. Also it works well with a tripod. However it would work better with 2 tripods though.
