Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this a good choice for the Shure VP88?

A: No, the Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting is not compatible for use with the Shure VP88 Stereo Condenser Microphone. The diameter of the VP88 is 39.7mm at the front, which is the widest part, and 27mm at the cable connection, which is the narrowest part. The INV-7 accommodates microphones that have a diameter of 19 to 25mm. The VP88 already has an internal shockmount that is designed to reduce handling noise and stand vibration, so you could use the stand adapter that comes included with the mic for most applications. If you feel that you need additional isolation, you can try the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII), which accommodates microphones with a diameter of 19 to 34mm and should work on the handle of the VP88.

Q: 2. Does somebody have first hand experience with how well this mount tackles handling noise when used with a Schoeps CMC641 with colette cable?

A: This Rycote should work well. The build quality is excellent. We have not tested the Rycote with this Schoeps mic.The mount below is designed specifically for this mic and may be the best choice:Schoeps A 20 S Elastic Suspension Swivel Shock Mount (Stiffer Elastic) B&H # SCA20S

Q: 3. Is it possible to remove the phone bracket off of the legs and place the bracket on another tripod using a 1/4" threaded screw?

A: No it is not removable.

Q: 4. Battery type?

A: The receiver of this kit accepts AAA batteries while the transmitter accepts the CR2032 3V lithium, both of which are included with the kit.

Q: 5. Will this hold the tripod to the Celestron Evolution 6?

A: The min height of the Celestron Tripod is 47" Height adjustment range (includes mount and tripod) 1193.8mm - 1752.6mm (47" – 69") The intirior Dim of the Lightware C6038 Stand Sock -37.75 x 5.5 x 0.5" IT IS TOO SHORT The interior Dim of the Think Tank Photo Stand Manager 52 52 x 12 x 7.5" IT WILL FIT IN THIS CASE

Q: 6. Rycote INV-7 Audix SCX1-HC compatibility use? I would like to know if someone here with the experience using it with the Audix can tell me how the mod was done and later how the shockmount is being used. Some people says that reattaching the lyre to the middle position could cause the microphone to receive sonic reflections from the excess length of the base carrier and the other way around is using the mount backwards. I would like to hear more commentaries about this before making a decision. Thank you.

A: You have the wrong mount for the mic you are using. The Audix SCX-1 is 4.09" / 104 mm. The Rycote mount you have is for mic's that are longer than 120mm.

Q: 7. How much does it weigh?

A: A little under 2.4lb.

Q: 8. Is this stand as secure in portrait mode as in landscape?

A: No, it tips over in portrait mode if it is standing up on all 3 legs. I tried attaching it to another object for portrait mode but it didnt hold that well. I ended up buying a clip that attaches to a camera tripod instead.

Q: 9. Will this work with micro 4/3 systems?

A: It works with my Olympus E-M5 markII and PM2.

Q: 10. what are the types of sousaphone?

A: is it compatible with HOHNER DOUBLE ECHO HARP 56 96 CG?
