Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This viewfinder does not come with a case, like Leica viewfinders. Any case to recommend for protection when not attached to the camera?

A: A lens pouch like this one can be used to protect ZEISS ZI Viewfinder for 25/28mm Lens https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1248223-REG/ruggard_lpn_f30x30_fold_over_neoprene_lens_pouch.html

Q: 2. Will this work with the Canon 16-35mm or is there a specific cover for that lens?

A: Yes, the Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia D 24-70 V3.0 Rain Cover, B&H # THHPD2470V3, would also be compatible for use with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Lens.

Q: 3. My tripod is 19.5 in length. Will it fit inside bag?

A: Not inside but on the outside with the tripod onboard carrier yes.

Q: 4. How does the holder mount 5 speedlights? Kindly provide an illustrated image/video. Much appreciation

A: The holder has 5 cold shoe mounts which surround the ring that accept a shoe mount flash on each. This method of mounting is only recommended for use with an umbrella. It cannot work in conjunction with the included softbox.

Q: 5. I have the Canon R6. The eyepiece is not removable so will the Think Tank eyepiece work?

A: The optional Hydrophobia eyepieces will not work/attach the right way since the Canon R6 eyepiece isn't removable, but the rain cover can technically still be used without it.

Q: 6. Does it fit a senhiser mkh 50?

A: Yes the MKH 50 is one of the microphones this windshield is compatible with.

Q: 7. Would this fit the SonyA1 with 200-600mm attached? (lens hood reversed) Thanks!

A: Unfortunately the 200-600mm lens is too long of a lens. You'll need the Explore 35 with the large DSLR Core Unit to fit the Sony A1 with the 200-600 attached. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1765879-REG/shimoda_designs_520_245_core_unit_large_dslr.html

Q: 8. What's the difference between this and the Rycote Baseball? Does this offer better wind attenuation to warrant the price difference? Or is one intended more for indoor/outdoor use?

A: The Rycote Baseball is built with faster, immediate movement in mind to avoid 'swooshing' or movement sounds, when the boom pole needs to make a sudden shift or movement, as well as plosive reduction. The Rycote Super-Softie is made with weather resistance in mind, with a high immunity to rain-soaking and an ideal solution for just about any electronic news gathering application.

Q: 9. How often are the frames replaced due to stress fractures? I have unknowingly cracked the gold tube at the point where it enters the black center holder, essentially ruining the frames. How common is this for others?

A: We have college students using ours and they can break anything, but they haven't done this.

Q: 10. Will it fit a red komodo with a smallHD 5" monitor and a few v-mount batteries and a couple small primes?

A: The inner core of the Shimoda Designs Explore v2 25 Backpack Photo Starter Kit (Black) is 8.7 x 10.6 x 4.7" (W x H x D) and would fit the RED Komodo brain. If your lenses are compact, the backpack should hold the lenses as well. However, there are many lens variables, so it may not fit larger, longer lenses. One way to check is to map out the dimensions of the core unit on a table and see if your gear fits inside.
