A premium matte inkjet coating ensures proper ink retention on the 50% cotton and 50% alpha cellulose base while also providing a high dynamic range and wide color gamut. Along with this, it has a basis weight of 210 gsm and a thickness of 13.8 mil as well as a rated opacity of 96.5% and a whiteness of 88.5%. Also, it does not use any optical brightening agents in order to grant archival properties and is both acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered. We store film according to industry standards, and any film that is 6 months from expiring or less is never sold as new, but rather featured and discounted as short-dated film. The volume of film that we buy and sell however in general keeps our shelves stocked with fresh stock on most popular film types.

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.
