Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the video pin retractable or removable on this item?

A: The video pin on the RP-20 head is retractable.

Q: 2. What are the min and max leg diameters?

A: Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod with PD-117 Pan/Tilt Head has 4 leg section. the largest leg diameter is 59mm and the smallest is 19m.

Q: 3. I have this tripod and notice that the tube is threaded on the inside. I'm guessing that this is to add an attachment like a sandbag or weight system? Is there an item from Oben or another that would use these threads?

A: The threading on the center column is to add counterweights/hooks.

Q: 4. Can this tripod hold Canon EOS7D with 70-200mm telephoto lens? Is a reducer required for EOS7D with this tripod for the included BA-113 Ball Head? Thank you.

A: This tripods weight capacity is more than sufficient for holding your Canon EOS 7D and a 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Both the camera and lens tripod collar (if applicable) have a standard sized 1/4-20 tripod mount thread size, which is the same size as the male threading on the head/plate of this tripod. No adapter or reducers are required.

Q: 5. Does this tripod allow you to aim your camera completely down and face the floor?

A: Just wanted to tell you it's a nice tripod...well-made.

Q: 6. Is the Oben AC-1451 Pan tilt head fluid as well?

A: You can use the tripod to pan video. I use it mostly for still shoots

Q: 7. I have a PD-117 head on this tripod and can't get it to come off. Do I need the small Allen wrenches to get the head off so I can put on a different head?

A: One does not need to use Allen wrenches to remove the PD-117 head. To remove the head from the legs, it is very important that the "panning" feature of the head be locked. Then the bottom section of the head is able to rotate and separate counterclockwise. If the head will not separate, than using a wide wrench attached to the base of the head will help to loosen the head and help to separate the head from the center column circular base.

Q: 8. will my manfrotto plate work on this head, or is there an adapter I can use?

A: The Manfrotto 200PL Quick Release Plate dimensions are 2.6 x 2.0 x 0.5 Vs the Oben RP-20 Quick Release plate dimensions 3.0 x 2.1 x 0.8 - Unfortunately for us, i reckon they aren't compatible

Q: 9. What is the size of the tread used to attach the head?

A: The thread mount for tripod heads is 3/8 -16.

Q: 10. Can you change heads on this tripod? THanks!

A: Yes, the head can be taken off the tripod and replaced with another one. The thread on the tripod legs is 3/8-16
