Optimized for Sigma SA-mount lenses in the Global Vision line, the TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter from Sigma will offer an increase in focal length of 1.4 times for select Global Vision lenses. This model offers full communication between the lens and camera and will allows autofocus to operate at up to f/8. The teleconverter also features one Special Low Dispersion element for reducing the appearance of chromatic aberrations and maintaining quality. Additionally, for protection, the TC-1401 is both dust and splashproof. When attached, the 1.4x conversion results in a light loss of approximately one stop.

NOTE: Autofocus may not function when using lenses with a maximum aperture of f/5.6 or lower.

I traded in my sigma 1.4 EPO. This teleconverter is optically superior. I have gotten amazing resolution when using tripod and a shutter release, even on moving subjects. A bit pricey but worth it. Autofocus does not work unless on F10 or higher, but you learn how to deal with it. 5

Used on a Nikon D810 and D800 with a Tamron 80-200mm f/2.8. Auto focus works great even in low light! Hardly any noticeable loss in performance of the zoom lens. Changes my f/2.8 to f4 as expected. I also shoot with Canon 5D Mark III and L 80-200mm f/2.8 II and the Canon 1.4 extender. Hardly can tell the difference but you can if you pixel peep at 100%. The TC-1401 1.4 X works great with my combo. Definitely highly recommended. 5

Picked up one for my 70-200 f2.8 Sport. Sharp throughout the range and the AF brisk and accurate. Bodies used D500 and a D750 depending on the venue. Money maker for sure! 5

This is a great accessory to the Sigma 120-300 sport lens. When you need that extra reach, just connect this between the lens and body and instantly you have a 420mm f4 lens. I haven't noticed any real quality loss either using it with this lens. Focus is also still quick and accurate even if you need to hand hold the lens. The main reason I purchased this accessory is for taking pictures of bald eagles nesting in our area. The last couple of years eagles have returned to our area (Pittsburgh) after a long absence. I also take vintage auto racing pictures in the summer and this will be useful for that as well. 5
