The Tiffen 82mm Low Contrast 1 Filter can be applied to purposely reduce contrast while photographing an image or while recording video. By redistributing illumination from brighter to darker areas within a scene, this filter is useful in helping to balance the tonal range among highlights and shadows. Detail is increased within shadow regions while a halation effect around highlights is created which can further enhance a scene's appearance or produce a desired effect.

This filter has a grade of 1. Grades of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone used this lens on the Sony a7II? I am considering this or the Canon 16-34 F4.

A: I've used both. I prefer the Sony 16-35. it's sharp and quick to focus. smaller size as well

Q: 2. This lens is compatible with Panasonic GF2?

A: yes it will fit all micro 4 /3 cameras from Panasonic and Olympus

Q: 3. Does this lens have manual focus available? I am wondering that If I use ND filter, how it still be able to auto focus? Please help and Thank you!

A: All lenses designed for the Sony E-mount have the capability to be focused manually. The Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens has both a zoom ring and a focus ring on the lens, and the camera on which the lens is used may be set to either autofocus or manual focus, depending on your needs. Also, depending on the strength of your neutral density (ND) filter and the current ambient light level, autofocus may be possible, but if you are using a strong ND filter or working in low lighting, you may need to first pre-focus with the camera in manual mode before attaching the filter to the lens to capture your image.

Q: 4. Is this lens considered to be a flat field lens (i.e. for copywork of 2D art)?

A: Yes, it is a flat field lens.

Q: 5. Is this one of those "extend to use" lenses that Nikon is making now or will it shoot at its most compact length?

A: Hi Richard! It is not an "extend to use" lens. It will be ready to shoot as soon as you turn the camera on.

A: No, the Panasonic Lumix G Macro 30mm f/2.8 ASPH. MEGA O.I.S. Lens does not work with the Nauticam N85 Macro Port 45. That port is only for Leica DG Macro Elmarit 45mm F2.8 ASPH Nikon 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm F3.5-5.6 Sony E Mount 30mm f/3.5 Macro

Q: 8. What is the physical length of the lens fully extended to 200mm?

A: Hi, the extended length of this lens is approximately 6.2"

Q: 9. Why is the aperture range so limited/bad, compared to say af-s 28-300 f3.5-5.6? They say z mount offers more light to come in, so why this lens is so poor;y designed?

A: I'm not sure why Nikon didn't produce a faster lens on the tele end but the Z cameras are better in low light compared to most DSLR's but I suppose to keep the cost down.

Q: 10. How hard is it to balance on a Ronin S?
