The CF 100 M one stage tripod, provides maximum stability and carrying capacity. Constructed and drawn out of one-piece carbon fiber material, makes it twist resistant and lighter than dural aluminum. It features a 100mm / 4" bowl, tube diameter of 16mm (0.63") and is fitted with the Sachtler rotary clamping system, which delivers the speed and mobility that news professionals and other users need.
With a weight of only 4 lb and has a maximum load of 99 lb! The CF 100 M is both extremely lightweight and highly stable.

A: The HotPod attachment works only with Sachtler heads

A: I would think any type of mount like the one in question will fit. Good tripod for taking trips on air vacations.

Q: 3. Got the W-2204 tripod which is rated to 39 lbs., same as 3 series despite smaller tube diameter. Would Sirui ph 20 gimbal head or similar work with the 2204? W 'pods are waterproof, but no 3 series available. Would like to use the 2204 with a gimbal hd and 200-500 lens and maybe a 300 f2.8.

A: I have a Nikon D4 with a 600mm Nikon prime lens with Wetherby gimbal mount. I have no problems shooting in the Everglades. Just rinse the tripod well if you end up in the water, etc

A: Yes, this comes with a 75/100 mm half bowl adapter.

Q: 5. Any recommendations on what half bowl to purchase with these sticks?

A: We believe you are asking for a half ball tripod head. If so, it does of course matter what camera you are using and what type of video work you will be doing. Here are two on the affordable side of the tripod range. Manfrotto 504HD Fluid Video Head B&H # MA504HD and the Libec RH25D Fluid Head B&H # LIRH25D. The MA504HD is hugely popular while the Libec is simply no nonsense quality. On the heavier side, you can consider then Manfrotto 509HD Professional Video Head B&H # MA509HD for a nice match of head and tripod or the VariZoom VZFH100 Fluid Head (100mm) B&H # VAVZFH100 which has a very good review.

A: The plate is a slide in.

Q: 8. Which Sachtler Threaded Bolt do I need to fit to my Sachtler DV 12 TB fluid head to this tripod?

A: The DV 12 TB will fit on a Hot Pod as-is, no need for any modification.

Q: 9. Can the legs be taken apart like other tripods if sand and salt water eventually make its way in? Are the seals replaceable if they wear out?

A: Yes, the legs can be taken apart for cleaning, though I have not had to do so, despite regular use in sand and salt water. The seals can be replaced, and the manufacturer provides instructions on how that is done. I have used Gitzo and Enduro tripods, and this tripod is the best I have owned for use in and around water and sand.

A: The Slik Pro CF-632 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not have a removable center column.

I normally use heavy duty Gitzo but find it cumbersome to carry for shorter trips where I don't take my 600 mm lens. I decide to purchase this traveler series before my trip to Utah national parks. Yes, it's small, light and not as stabile as my other, but, performed very well in the Antelope Canyon, Bryce NP and the Capitol Reef. I used it for D810 with 14-24/2.8, 35 mm and 70-200/2.8 without any issues. So, very good for the job were large weight and super stability is not paramount. 5

It's solid, it fits in my carry on bag, it's only 2.3 lbs. 5' tall is a good max height for most of my shooting. My geared head adds about 5". It's slender so it does not take up much room in my bag. Not having to check a bag if I want to carry a 5' max tripod is worth the steep price. It does not have a hood for a backpack. I made a strap with a plastic coated metal hook and that works fine. No regrets about this purchase. 5
