The white COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone, Phantom Only with XLR Connector from Sanken is a subminiature lav mic designed to deliver clear, full-bodied sound and reliable performance, making it a popular choice among industry professionals in broadcast, TV, theater, film, videography, and more.
The COS-11D is RF shielded to eliminate interference issues and ensure a pristine audio signal, while the microphone capsule features a rectangular design that sits vertically, increasing the surface area and allowing little mic to offer a rich, full sound that outperforms many larger models.
The mic's 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response rolls-off extreme low end and provides accurate, transparent audio reproduction with a small presence boost in the 6 kHz area for crisp, intelligible speech. With a forgiving omnidirectional polar pattern that picks up sound in a 360° pattern, levels stay consistent—even when the subject turns away from the mic.
A water-resistant mesh screen protects against humidity, perspiration, makeup, bad weather, and other potential on-location issues, while the durable cable is also moisture-resistant and built to stay soft and pliable even after extended use. This version of the COS-11D terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR connector for use with a wide variety of audio gear able to supply 48V phantom power for the mic. A metal windscreen, holder clip, rubber mount, and plastic case are included.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can this be used with SONY DSC-_HX200V?
A: No, this bracket is made for narrow camcorders, not wide still cameras. I would suggest this bracket. Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket with Silicon Rubber Grip B&H # VECB510.
Q: 2. Can this record stereo if using an adapter for the mic input?
A: The F2 does record audio on two channels. When using the included microphone (which has a single mic element and a 3.5mm TRS locking connector) the audio recorded is dual mono, so it is the same audio on both the left and right channels. An actual stereo microphone uses two individual elements to deliver different audio on the left and right channels. Using an adapter for the mic input of the F2 may not provide actual stereo separation. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you would like further assistance.
Q: 3. I like using ferrite on my ipad to edit. Will 32 bit pose any problem?
A: I am unfamiliar with ferrite and I see no documentaton on their website about the resolution of files supported.
Q: 4. Can this be used with sony HDR-PJ410?
A: While this product is designed for larger camcorders you should still be able to use it with the HDR-PJ410.
Q: 5. Will this act as an audio input device via the usb?
A: No, the F2 does not function as an audio input device like a USB audio interface. When connected to a computer via USB, the F2 can transfer files and you can also control the F2's settings while using the F2 Editor app. The USB port can also be used with Zoom's AD-17 adapter for AC power.
Q: 6. Does the case have room for a shock mount and/or pop filter?
A: There is a pocket and an additional cut out area in the case that could fit a shock mount and pop filter.
Q: 7. re: 32bit. The input mic says 105db. If you get a different mic capable of higher db, will the input still be distortion free? say, if you are recording something at 140 db, like a loud concert, or a jet show, w/ a low flyby. Just because the recorder is capable of capturing at that bit rate & resolution, many x's the pre-amps are not capable of utilizing the spec's/dynamics, sometimes related to s/n ratio & it's rated max db level.
A: Since this is a new product that is not out yet these specs have not been tested in the real world yet. I can not guarentee an answer at this time.
Q: 8. The Boundary Microphone: I have a delightful number of Shure MX 391/O Boundary Microphones. If I use an adaptor, would I be able to use that microphone with the Zoom F2?
A: If you used an adapter that provided phantom power yes. The Zoom will not provide the power needed for you mics.
Q: 9. The included mic has decent gain. My TR-50 lavs barely move the meter and the waveform doesn't even show audio. When I normalize the audio is there, I know this is 32 bit floating point, but I'd like to have at least some normal input level. Is the answer to only use their included lav?
A: Yes this Mic is pretty good will get the job done! for Blogeer or interview
Q: 10. Does this recorder support exFAT file system? Does it have a limit to file size? Some recorders break and restart new files at a 2gig limit. Can you make a 3, or 5 or 8 gig single audio file?
A: No, the F2 records 32-bit float WAV file format and is BWF compatible. It records to microSD cards up to 512 GB maximum. The recording continues until you press the stop button and does not automatically break in the middle to start a new file so you can make 3, 4, or 5 GB single recorded audio files.
