Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. With a camera mounted and the ball head locked into a vertical position, will it REALLY hold the camera in position or is there a danger of failure or breaking the ball head?

A: Yes, this will hold a camera with a lens in the weight limited listed which is 4.5 LB. I would not go over 3 LB just to be careful.

Q: 2. Can this be used for the solo shot 3?

A: With this tripod having a 4.5 pound load capacity it would not be our first recommendation for the Solo Shot. You will want a sturdier tripod to handle both the weight of the camera along with it panning on its own. A Magnus VT-350 Video Tripod with Fluid Head, which has a 15 pound load capacity, is a better choice. You will need a reducer bushing as well. Q: 3. Can the quick release clamp be removed from the ball head and replaced with an Arca type clamp?

A: No, the quick release platform cannot be removed from the ball head. However, you can replace the head with Slik's Arca Swiss compatible ball head, the SH-180 DS.

Q: 4. Does the screw in the Quick Release plate have a inbuilt twisting tool or should I use a separate twisting tool/coin to twist the screw?

A: Screw has folding tightening wings on it - there is no obvious option to use a tool. For a little extra weight, sticking a cheap Arca-style clamp on it allows attaching to either a plate on the camera or a plate on a lens mount.

Q: 5. can this be converted into monopod?

A: Unfortunately no, it cannot.

Q: 6. 1. Which is better for stability: aluminum or aluminum alloy? 2. What is diameter of bottom leg?3. Is head removable?4. Does center column reverse / is removable? Thanks.

A: All aluminum tripods are aluminum alloy. The diameter of the bottom leg is 10mm. Both the head and center column are removable, and the center column is reversible.

Q: 7. is this tripod compatible with the Panasonic DVX100b ?

A: The DST-3 Lightweight 2-Stage Tripod System is compatible with the DVX100B.

Q: 8. What is the weight of the tripod legs and center column without the ball head. I would plan to attach a different head and am trying to figure out what the final weight would be.

A: Without the ball head, it weighs 1.78574lbs or 810grams. The ball head weighs 235g (0.518086lb). You can find all the specs of this tripod on the Slik website.

Q: 9. My first time buying a tripod. Does this work for Fujifilm XT2 with 16mm lens?

A: It should. This is a very light travel tripod and works best with lighter weight equipment. I used it wit a Nikon D3300 with a long lens and it was ok.

Q: 10. Can be used with Sony FDR-AX43?

A: Yes you can use the Slik Sprint 150 Tripod for for your Sony camcorder but I would recommend getting The Magnus VPH-20 Video Pan & Tilt Fluid Head .BH #MAVPH20 • MFR #VPH-20. A Ball head is not a good choice for shooting video. The video head makes it easier to control and camera and get silky smooth panning for example.
