A: The lights on the Smith-Victor 42" Pro-Duty Copy Stand Kit just clip on. So, those are easy to take off and break down. The Copy stand column can be take off but is not really made to do that all the time. And is best to leave that on the base board.

A: I would contact the manufacturer Smith-Victor corp. for the pro-pod II parts.It does appear to have a mechanism to remove the clip.

A: Unfortunately, no, there is nothing in the design of the Smith-Victor 36" Pro-Duty Copy Stand Kit specifically designed to address holding flat items that are not flat. As stated by a few other replies, you may purchase a flat piece of glass or transparent Plexiglas to hold paper or other thin items flat, or you may use gaffers tape to tape the edges of the item to the baseboard if there is a border and the edges will not be in the image. When using glass/Plexiglas, you may need to adjust the angle of the light to ensure no reflections are added to the image, and/or you may use polarized filters on the lights and your camera to reduce any unwanted reflections.

A: I didn't use it for a DSLR. It has a standard thread on the mount and the slide in mount is adjustable for balance. It can be adjusted forward and back to balance it out. It's OK for what it is.

A: It is very sturdy, mostly solid metal constructions. We have a Blackmagic Cinema camera with zoom lens (probably about 5lbs total) mounted on a 90 degree angle and it stays very consistent.
