The Tiffen 5 x 6" CC30M Magenta Filter is a color compensating (or color correction) filter for use when making color balance adjustments. It can be used to alter the color balance of a scene by placing in front of a light source or the lens of your camera. It can also be used to apply color corrections when used in the darkroom with an enlarger or to help pre-visualize color adjustments when viewing prints.

Magenta is the opposite of green and can be used to reduce green tones or casts within a scene or print. This magenta CC30 is more dense than a CC20 filter and less dense than a CC40 filter, and requires a 0.6 stop compensation for normal exposure results.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 5 x 6" / 127 x 152.4mm.

Q: 4. What are it's advantages over the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM bound with a Metabones IV (witch I do 'already have, with latest firmware) - if we do the abstraction of price and that it's more elegant to not have to do with adapters..)? :Is the Bokhe and softer f1.4 til f2.8 a real advantage for portraits, has it better 3D effect over the latest Canon ?

A: I have the Canon 35mm F1.4 II with the Metabones V and latest firmware update, which I've been using on the A7R II. The problem is inconsistent vignetting and performance because the Metabones are inconsistent as a rule. Sometimes they work awesome, sometimes they don't. The Sony 35mm 1.4 is a great lens, and being built for the Sony it should be your first consideration. I haven't seen much difference in performance of the lenses when the Metabones is working perfectly, though some of the A7R II functionality is lost due to using the Canon lens with an adapter. Both lenses seem equal in quality with sharpness and bokeh, though the Canon 35mm is sharper to through the corners. But in short, the camera wants it's own kind...and I have to admit, I never miss a shot with the Sony 35mm on the A7R II, whereas when the Metabones acts up...shots are definitely lost. Something to think about.

Q: 5. Is this focus by wire?

A: Yes, it is focus by wire.

Q: 6. What's the max aperture at 70mm?

A: The max aperture at 70mm is F/6.

Q: 7. Anyone used this lens on the Sony a7II? I am considering this or the Canon 16-34 F4.

A: I've used both. I prefer the Sony 16-35. it's sharp and quick to focus. smaller size as well

Q: 8. Is this lens considered to be a flat field lens (i.e. for copywork of 2D art)?

A: Yes, it is a flat field lens.

Q: 9. Where is this lens manufactured?

A: The origin of this lens is Thailand.

Q: 10. Can this lens be used for Macro photography?

A: While it can focus to under two feet, it cannot give you true macro imaging which would require a 1:1 (life size) magnification ratio. A combination of extension tubes and or close-up lenses would be needed for macro imaging, if possible, with this lens. Distortion and image degradation would likely also be a problem.
