Used primarily for toning down light intensity in specific areas, the 6 x 6' Double Scrim for Overhead from Chimera reduces the light value by 1.25 stop. The fabric attaches quickly to a separately-purchased aluminum frame via grommets for use overhead or supported vertically with stands.

A: This mic terminates in to a ta4f connection, and included with the mic is an in-line pre-amp that converts ta4f to XLR male 3 pin.

Q: 4. is the net large enough that it would create a pattern on the subject if you used it between the sun and subject...ie not behind the subject but using it to cut down the light on the subject....does that make sense ?

A: This fabric would not produce a pattern, but rather it would just reduce the amount of light hitting the subject.

A: No. This is frame only.

Q: 6. Does this mic come with a matching wind screen?

A: This mic does not include a windscreen. If you needed a windscreen, these are compatible BH #SHRK183WS.

Q: 7. Have you seen the 2-stop versions doubled for a 4-stop version?

A: The way the fabrics attach to the Scrim Jim Cine frame you really can not attach more than one at a time.

Q: 8. How long is the cable?

A: The Shure Shure MX202W-A/C Microflex Overhead Cardioid Microphone with Stand Mount Adapter and XLR Connector (White) has a 30' cable terminated with XLR.

Q: 9. The silk is permanently mounted on the metal frame, correct?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Does this diffuse enough direct sunlight to cover a single interview subject? Or is 48x48 better?

A: We would highly suggest a 48x48 to accommodate you subject matter needs. A 24x36 would not give enough space coverage as needed.

I use this adaptor with Novatron lights in rectangular Photoflex Softboxes with Photoflex speedrings. The speedring and its adaptor do not allow rotation of the softbox. The Chimera double axis adaptor gives me back that rotation that I want when using rectangular or strip softboxes. The adaptor is strong, light weight, and looks attractive. I also like that it folds down flat so that takes minimal space in my bag when I travel the lights. 5

The Chimera Double Axis Stand Adapter is an extremely well built and useful tool in your lighting kit. I have two of these as well as two single axis versions with me when I do location lighting. Although heavier and larger than the plastic adapters widely used today, these adapters are made to be around and functioning decades after I am gone. I have no fear attaching large monolights or expensive strobe units with Chimera Adapters. This double axis version can even be set up to operate without a stand, easily balancing out my Quantum T5d-R units when I place them on tables, book cases or on the floor as a quick backlight. 5

ALL stand adapters should be made like this! Virtually any angle is achievable with little effort, and not much bigger than standard adapters. I don't leave home without at least two of these. 5
