This Whirlwind Medusa Standard Series 16 Channel (4x 1/4" TRS Return) Snake is a snake cable with a heavy-duty steel stagebox at one end and a fanout at the other end. The cabling consists of heavy-duty, flexible Belden CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire.

The fanouts feature genuine Whirlwind connectors. Mic channels are numbered and return connectors are lettered by engraving the metal barrel with large, easy to read graphics.

Snake cables make it possible to combine several balanced (microphone) cables into one smaller diameter multipair cable, making setup and teardown much faster and easier, with less tangling and clutter than would otherwise be the case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it work with film camera fuji TX-2?

A: A Fuji TX-2 rangefinder 35mm film camera would accept a standard cable release such as the Nikon AR-3 Threaded Cable Release, B&H # NIAR3. https://bhpho.to/2mgrWEJ

Q: 2. Will this work with the Arca style quick release plates?

A: It sort-of does. The clamp doesn't open wide enough to drop all A-S plates or L-brackets into it, so you may have to slide it in. You'll need a flat head screwdriver to push the safety latch down, though. You'll probably need 3 hands to accomplish such a process as well.

Q: 3. What port does this plug into on the camera? Is it still usable if I have an external mic in use?

A: This is a 2.5mm sub-mini plug, which goes in to the shutter release port on a compatible camera. If the camera has an input for a microphone as well that is a different connection, a 3.5mm or 1/8 input.

Q: 4. Would I need to buy a quick release plate or does the head come with one? In the picture it looks like one is included.

A: The quick release plate is included. You do not need to buy it.

Q: 5. Can I mount this ballhead on a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod?

A: The Vanguard BBH-100 Ballhead is compatible with the Manfrotto 055XPROB legs. The Manfrotto 055XPROB legs have a 3/8-16 mount thread, as does the Vanguard BBH-100. The Vanguard also comes with a reducer bushing should you want to mount it onto a set of legs/monopod with 1/4-20 thread.

Q: 6. will this work with the xt-4?

A: Yes, the FUJIFILM RR-100 Remote Release would be compatible for use with the Fujifilm X-T4 Mirrorless Digital Camera as indicated on page 64 and 302 of the Fujifilm X-T4 Mirrorless Digital Camera's instruction manual.

Q: 7. How is the feel of the locking switch? I have a Vello shutter release for Nikon, but when pressing the button it would often slip the locking switch up and lock the shutter open. It did not have enough of a detent in the switch to prevent this.

A: Very well made, no issue with the locking switch.

Q: 8. Does this work to run/stop video recording?

A: Yes it does if you assign the shutter to start/stop video

Q: 9. does ir work with fuji XT3?

A: The FUJIFILM RR-100 Remote Release works perfectly with the FUJIFILM XT3.

Q: 10. This works fine on my X-T3, even with an extension cable, but here's a question for anyone: might it be possible to plug this into a kind of Y-splitter so I can run two cameras with a single RR-100? (This would be to shoot video.)

A: Unfortunately no. Just tried it for you. The second camera doesn't respond to the commands. I would consider looking at some wireless options like the Shutterboss or have an extra remote for the other camera.

It's hard to find R + W discs. Amazon wasn't much help, and local stores' clerks looked at me as if I'd emerged from a cave. Thank God for B & H.
