Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used with SONY DSC-_HX200V?

A: No, this bracket is made for narrow camcorders, not wide still cameras. I would suggest this bracket. Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket with Silicon Rubber Grip B&H # VECB510.

Q: 2. Can anyone confirm if this will work with the Canon Vixia HF G50? The manufacturer's website states that a compatible camera "should be shorter than 3.6" and be smaller than 1 5/8" from the tripod hole center to the rightmost part of the camera." It appears that I *should* be ok, but would love to confirm before I purchase. Thanks!

A: This will not now work with the Canon Vixia HF G50

Q: 3. HI,is it compatible with the nikon D7000 & DJI osmo+ ?

A: Hello, I can only speak using the mic on my Nikon D750 but I've seen Youtube videos before I made my purchase where the Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro works with the D7000 and DJI osmo. There are several clips where people show and talk about it. I video a lot of local bands and even though the built in stereo mic on my Nikon D750 works wonderful, the high frequency cymbal crashes would occasionally distort the clarity and over modulate. The Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro has completely taken care of that problem for me. Plus for my application, it works better than a shotgun mic which is very directional. I also registered my Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro with Rode, the day I received it and got their 10 year warranty. Based on my needs, I would recommend this mic. Best of luck!

Q: 4. Can this be connected and used as a PC microphone?

A: Technically yes because it runs off of a 9v battery. The proper way to do it would be to plug it into an audio interface first, but you could just run it into a microphone input on a computer. Then, set your system preferences to that mic as the input.

Q: 5. Will this fit a Sony FDR-AX100?

A: Yes it will

Q: 6. how heavy is it?

A: I don't know the exact weight, but it feels quite light. It is lighter than regular DSLR camera flashes. If you would not be worried about the weight of a flash, you should not be worried about the weight of this mic. It is an excellent good mic.

Q: 7. Is it good to go on a boom with zoom h5, for short films

A: You can use this mic on top of a camera or on a boom pole. The closer to the subject, the better audio you will have.

Q: 8. Does the bottom have a 1/4 screw hole so I could mount to a tripod?

A: specs read: has Camera shoe mount with 3/8 thread for easy boom-pole mounting so not a 1/4 screw hole. I checked mine and it is indeed 3/8 and larger than typical tripod mount. Perhaps you can find an adapter for it that B&H has. Ask the staff.

Q: 9. Does this mic work with a Canon 7D?

A: Yes it does. Just as a word of advice, push the db up on the mic, and manually move the audio level down on your camera. The compression is terrible on the camera, and you'll get a hiss if you don't.

Q: 10. Does this mic pick up the image stabilization noise of the Canon 24-105? And if so, is it very noticeable and is there some type of on-camera bracket that isolates the mic from that sound? Im looking for an inexpensive on-camera solution for home movies and getting sound bites from family.

A: I have the Canon 70D, and I purchased the Rode VideoMic Pro just for that reason! It does not pick up any noise from image stabilization on my Canon lenses. The Rycote shockmount does a perfect job at eliminating unwanted noises.
