The black, xx-large OP/TECH USA Hood Hat is designed to fit a lens and shade with a diameter from approximately (12.7 to 14.6 cm). Simply placing the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood while in place will provide just as much protection for the critical front lens elements as would be provided by a traditional lens cap. The neoprene material will adjust to fit both round and elliptical "petal-type" shades.

Lens hoods with significantly larger opening than the lens diameter may require larger model hood hat. This item is made in the USA.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can a lens hood still be attached to the lens with the sleeve on?

A: Yes, the opening of the sleeve is large and draws down with a drawstring. The sleeve covered the lens hood, 150-600 lens, camera and the top of the tripod.

Q: 2. Would this fit for a Fuji Xt20 or Fuji X100f?

A: I bought them to protect my Nikon Coolpix 900 from dust when I went to South Africa on safari. Truthfully, I'm an amateur photographer and ended up using a shower cap instead. The rainsleeves fit fine and I'm sure I'll use them at some point.

Q: 3. Thank you to the folk who answered my initial question! I guess the clarification I'm looking for is regarding the measurement stated in the item description. The measurement given is for the lens it seems, not the hood. So, for example, would the micro hood (for a LENS between 2.0 to 2.5 inches) be the right size if that lens has a 2.75 inch hood? Thank you!

A: Yes it will fit a 2.75 diameter lens because material is elastic like that of Urethane foam wet suit for divers. I suspect that if you left hood on 2.75 lens for long-term storage, hood may no longer fit as snugly on 2.5 diameter lens. Just a theory. I use hood on Sony 10-18mm ultra wide lens which has 2.75 Diameter. Hood is well made. Good insurance. Shelly on Oct 31, 2015

Q: 4. what is the weight limit on this strap? will it hold a 2lb camera?

A: According to Op/Tech, the Compact Sling has a load capacity of 2.5 lbs / 1.1 kg.

Q: 5. Is this big enough to accommodate panasonic lumix battery model DMW-BLC12 (for the Lumix DMC FZ1000)? thank you.

A: I can't say for sure. My biggest battery that fits is a DMW-BLE9PP is 37 x 42 x 15 mm, and it's a squeeze. Hope this helps.

Q: 6. Will this fit a Sony NP-FZ100 battery?

A: Sorry for the late answer. I use this for a Canon 7D battery and it wouldn't fit a battery much larger than that. If you can compare your battery measurements to a Canon 7D, maybe that would help. I think the holster was actually made for that particular battery or at least style of battery. You may want to check the company website "OP/TECH USA Battery Holster". Good Luck if you havent already solved the issue. Again, sorry for the late reply.

Q: 7. Will this fit the Canon 500mm f/4 IS II?

A: Hi, I use the XXXL on my hood on the 400 2.8. It is a bit tight but stretches lots and stays on well. Also rolls up small and fits in my back pocket when I forget to leave it in my lens case. Doubles as a nice tray to hold stuff, lens caps, card holders, small lens hoods, etc on my desk when I am editing and filing on location. Hope this helps. James Carey Lauder, Winnipeg, Canada

Q: 8. Will sleeve fit over Sony A7R4 with battery grip?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. Does the camera when attached to the sling come out far enough from your body so you can see the rear screen well enough to frame the picture and will the strap allow the camera to come to eye level if you want to use the viewfinder?

A: I find this sling to be very flexible and allow plenty of space to enable one to see the rear screen as well as allow one to use the view finder all while taking the pressure off one's neck.

Q: 10. HOW EASILY CAN ONE HOLD CAMERA WITH TWO HANDS WHILE ACCESSING CAMERA CONTROLS AND SHOOTING?

A: I set the sleeve up using my right hand to hold the camera. I was able to adjust most of the controls with my left hand from the outside of the sleeve. Two words of caution: 1- using the lens sun shield helped limit the amount of rain on the lens/filter. 2- be careful to check photos frequently because the focus and auto exposure can be adversely impacted by the sleeve. (The sleeve is a good solution to prevent camera damage. Prior to buying it, I destroyed a Nikon D70S In Alaska from rain exposure.)
