The compact and lightweight brown 8-16x21 U-Series UP Binoculars combine aspherical optical elements and BAK4 Porro prisms to deliver edge-to-edge image sharpness with a wide angle of view. The optical elements are also fully multicoated to provide a high transmission of light. With an 8-16x range of magnification and 21mm objectives, you obtain a wide zooming range and a compact form factor. You can easily spot your targets with a 5° angular field of view at 8x magnification and quickly zoom in on them with the optical zoom. To reduce image jitter at high zoom factors or for prolonged observations, you can connect the binoculars to a tripod via an integrated 1/4"-20 socket. In addition to observing distant scenes, birds and game, the minimum focus of 63.8' allows you to study in detail close objects like animal footprints, marks or landscape features. The binoculars also feature a 2.6-1.3mm exit pupil range, a 14-11mm eye relief range, an interpupillary and a diopter adjustments.

The binoculars are very compact, lightweight, and feature a single piece frame that houses objectives, which allows for a synchronized interpupillary adjustment. To accommodate eye glasses wearers, the binoculars offer sliding rubber eyecups. Also included are a carrying case, a neck strap, and eyepiece covers.

      Related Questions and Answers

      Q: 1. Warranty?

      A: Limited 25-Year Warranty

Q: 2. Is the the carrying case of good quality? Does the carrying case have a strap (as stated in the "In The Box" section), or NO strap (as stated in Michael's review)? Please clarify.

A: The case has its own strap. Very durable case. I have owned one for over 8 years.

Q: 3. Does it come with case and strap? Thanks.

A: Yes the Pentax 10x25 come with a case and a strap.

Q: 4. Are these at least water "resistant" in heavy rain? I understand they are not the waterproof version, but I don't plan on submerging them in water. Thanks in advance.

A: A very difficult question to answer. To a certain point all binoculars should survive a rain shower. Some better than others, as long as you dry them off as soon as possible.

Q: 5. What is the IPD for these ?

A: By opening and closing the central pivot, you can adjust the distance between the eyecups (IPD) from a minimum setting of 5.8cm, right up to a maximum of 7.4cm. For a full sized bin, this is a pretty good range and means that they should be able to accommodate most people.

Q: 6. Are these binoculars waterproof?

A: Unfortunately this model is not Waterproof. It's Slip Resistant, also could handle light right. They are not Waterproof though. If you wanted something Waterproof I would go with the Nikon 16x50 Action Extreme ATB Binoculars. Website link: http://bhpho.to/1BfHF7L
