The black B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with TA3F Connector for Samson Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a water-resistant, miniature lavalier microphone for capturing high-quality audio. It can be used in a variety of applications such as a tie-clip lavalier in interviews, a hair-hidden mic for drama, a water-resistant mic for water sports and hurricane reporting, or simply a small mic to hide in a prop flower vase.

The capsule is resistant to moisture, which allows for placement in the hair or on bare skin, and its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise, and plosives (popping). Furthermore, a variety of skin-matching colors are available. The B3's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to a Samson CT2, BT3, UT4, or TX3 (Gray) wireless bodypack transmitter. Additionally, a carrying case, two cable clips, a windscreen, and three protective caps are also included.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B3 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B3 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B3 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 150 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B3 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this unit handle Line level inputs or just mic level inputs???

A: The Tascam DR70D is able to accept mic or line level signals via the XLR/TRS combo jacks. Input settings are accessible in the menu.

Q: 2. How does this compare to Zoom H6? Thanks!

A: Works great and I recomend both the Dr-70D and the H6. I have had no issues with either unit.Ron WhittingA F ProductionsTyler,Texas

Q: 3. How does this compare to the DR-60D?

A: There are a few features that differentiate the Tascam DR-70D from the DR-60D. The new DR-70D features 4 XLR mic inputs as opposed to the 2 available on the DR-60D. These inputs also feature upgraded preamps for higher record quality. The DR-70D also has included dual built in mics, all in a lower profile casing.

Q: 4. can you monitor each channel input separated? like in the dr60

A: One online YouTube reviewer says this is not possible. I have not independently verified. This might change depending on firmware, although the capability would not be very useful if the feature cannot be utilized on the fly during recording, not simply presented by menu choices.

Q: 5. What's the best setting for DB levels on the line out to A7siii camera. If I set the tascam to +12 then it looks like camera can be at a volume setting of 3. Since the camera preamps are probably worse than the Tascam wouldn't this be best. I read elsewhere to set the Tascam so the camera ends up @ 8. What do you guys think?

A: We recommend using a level matching cable to pad the line level output signal from the Tascam DR-70D so it will provide a compatible signal level that will not overload the camera's mic input. The Sescom LN2MIC-ZOOMH4N Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N) will provide a -25 dB pad for the 70D's line level output and the Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON) works in the same way and also includes a headphone tap.

Q: 6. Are the 4 tracks capable of recording simultaneously?

A: The Tascam DR70D is able to record all 4 XLR mic inputs simultaneously.

Q: 7. Hello , I recently bought a Tascam dr 70d in bhphotoand I want to know how? to monitor independent mics entries in record mode and pause mode1.01 0044

A: there is no switch to play the tracks separately, which is a shame ...Looking forward to the next generation

Q: 8. Can this be mounted from underneath? Obviously the screw-in tap will attach it to the bottom of a DSLR, but can the 70D be mounted onto the top of something else?

A: You can mount the 70D on the bottom of a DSLR with mounting screw. The unit also has a mounting screw underneath, so you can mount ontop of camera, tripod, etc.

Q: 9. Can a timestamp be put on when a recording begins?

A: While the Tascam DR-70D 6-Input / 4-Track Multi-Track Field Recorder with Onboard Omni Microphones does not have a timecode feature, recordings can be stamped with the date and time as set in the menu.

Q: 10. Does this recorder provide multitrack interface for sound editors, when it is attached to computer via USB?

A: The Tascam DR 70D will not be recognized as an interface when connected to a computer. The USB is only able to be used for data transfer from the SD card.
