Q: 1. I found a Setti cheap (Dish, Profoto Speedring, and Diffusion Sock). So I'll still need a grid, and the Opal Diffuser. But just wondering... This one seems to have kind of a "creamy" white finish. I imagine it will produce a warmer color temp. Is that normal for a Setti or has this been painted/modified/refurbished? And also, 20 or 40 degree grid? And White, or Black?

A: Back in January I purchased the entire line of Mola soft lights. I would have to say that the Demi and Setti are two favorites. First its hard to know about the interior color of the dish being it could be just old and age discolored or just stored badly between uses. If it turns out to be a bit too warm for your liking I think I would opt for a CC gel to knock it back some. With regard to grids? I prefer the black 20,.....while some say the white gives a nice soft edge which I think is contrary to using a grid to start with.....it also knocks back the contrast which I don't like one bit. {looks odd to me} Also, don't lose any sleep over the Opal diffuser disc. I have several and have yet to use them on any of my dishes. I like them with the perforated disc alone. I think once you get set up with this dish you'll love it as much as all Mola users do. They have a completely unique look and feel to them. Oh, and a tip for storage? Put them back in their plastic shipping bag and store on their face, not on their sides.

Q: 2. What's the exit angle of the Demi without any extra diffusion or grid?

A: Hi Juan: Unlike a simple parabola the Demi is difficult to calculate a specific angle. The Demi’s undulating surface changes the angle at several points through the reflector curvature. As well flash tube styles and location make this calculation difficult. Therefore it does not have a quantifiable angle as such.

Q: 3. If you had to choose between a Mola Setti or a Mola Demi for 3/4 portraits, which would it be?

A: I own the Demi and I absolutely love the quality of light that it produces for head shots. I do use it for 3/4 shots sometimes but the larger Setti may be better suited for that.

Q: 4. I need a mounting ring for the Mola 22inch demi that works with the Cheetah speed pro s bracket?

A: You may use the Mola Speed Ring for Bowens, B&H # MOSRBQ to attach the Cheetah Speed Pro S Bracket to this Mola beauty dish. Please see the image below for reference:

Q: 5. Have you traveled on a plane with it? what are the actual measurements with the adapter? 28x ...? if you have flown with it, have you paid extra to carry it?

A: I am a fashion photographer and have flown with this dish, since it can be hard to rent locally in many places. It is big and heavy and needs to be boomed out and sandbagged carefully, but the light is amazing and I have used it for many editorial projects. I have the Mola case, which was extremely expensive, but it is the only option for air travel and even around town you need it if you run the PAD and opal glass stacked, as I do. I have never paid extra baggage - a little flirtation goes a long way in this world!

Q: 6. What are the sizes along with any other informaion?

A: These are replacement panels for the Lastolite Triflector kit, B&H # LATL2PSWK. They measure approximately 30 inches per panel.

Q: 7. I've seen this fit the b10plus but is there any adapter needed or does this have a tension ring that just fits around the b10?

A: No adapter is needed. The Profoto White Softlight Beauty Dish Reflector (20.5") has a built-in Profoto speed ring compatible for use on the Profoto B10 Plus OCF Flash Head.

Q: 8. Does the Mola Demi work well with LED monolights?

A: If you have an LED light fixture (preferably with a COB LED) and the light fixture has a mount that uses a speedring that is manufactured by Mola (such as a light fixture that accepts Bowens speed rings), then yes, the Mola Demi 22- -Beauty Dish- Soft Lite Reflector (White) may be used with your LED light fixture.

Q: 9. Does this fit onto the OCF adapter to use with A series flashes?

A: The Profoto OCF Adapter for the Profoto A series flashes is only large enough to accommodate the Profoto OCF series of modifiers.

Q: 10. Someone could recommend a carrying case for it?

A: SKB makes a great BD case
