Vixen Optics Vc200l 200mm F/9 Catadioptric Telescope (ota Only)

Vixen manufactures fine telescopes in several aperture sizes and configurations, to assure that you'll find one perfect for you. Their VC200L 200mm f/9 Catadioptric Telescope is neither a Schmidt-Cassegrain or a Maksutov-Cassegrain, but rather a unique creation all its own: a catadioptric Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain (VISAC) optical system, one of the most sophisticated optical designs available on the market today. This design is free of coma and field curvature, as well as spherical and chromatic aberrations. Especially noteworthy is its sharpness and flatness at the edges, which far exceeds that of Schmidt-Cassegrain systems of the same aperture. It provides a pinpoint star image less than 15 microns, even at the edges of its 42mm image circle. If you're looking for a photographic catadioptric, this is an excellent choice.
The Vixen VISAC optical system is composed of a concave primary mirror, a convex secondary mirror, and a three-element field corrector at the base of the focuser. The primary mirror is a unique innovation: A precise sixth-order shape produced by Vixen's High-Precision Poly-Order Aspherical Mirror Molding Technique.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Do you have the adapater needed to connect the back of the telescope (T thread) to the Celestron f/6.3 Reducer (SCT thread)?
A: You can adapt the Celestron reducer by using the Blue Fireball SCT Thread Adapter for Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes # C-07 which we do not sell. We have never tested a reducer on this telescope so we cannot state the performance will be good.
Q: 2. What mounts are you using?
A: The Sky-Watcher 102mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope (OTA Only) does not come with a mount but this Skywatcher GTI mount is recommended and sold in a kit with the telescope. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3B4y5I6
Q: 3. can you mount a Sony A6600 to the telescope and if so what parts do i need. also can you mount a Samsung Note 8? Thanks
A: Hello, The smartphone, can connect with the : https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1201285-REG/tele_vue_sfa_0001_fonemate_universal_smartphone_adapter.html You A6600 can connect to the scope with two T mpiunt parts: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202135-REG/Celestron_93625_SLR_35mm_OR_Digital.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/839140-REG/vello_la_nex_t_lens_mount_adapter.html
Q: 4. I own the Celestron Nexstar 4SE and wondering if I can use my tripod with this OTA?
A: Probley not. Your tripod head would have to be able to accept Long Vixen-style dovetail plate.
Q: 5. they are making shipments to Mexico?
A: B&H will ship the iOptron Photron 150mm f/9 Ritchey-Chrétien Catadioptric Telescope (OTA Only) BH #IO6111 • MFR #6111 to Mexico via DHL
Q: 6. What is the maximum effective magnification? I am asking since at the iOptron website its wriiten 180, however other 6" telescopes usually have around 300 max effective magnification. Thanks
A: The stated lower magnification could be because of the stated shorter focal length of the OTA.
Q: 7. Can I take parts and reduce weight to 11 pounds when shooting, put a camera and then put it on the sky watcher az gti?
A: This would not be possible to do, as there really are no parts to remove.
Q: 8. what is the actual size of the central obstruction INCLUDING the baffle?
A: The Length is 22 , and the Width is 8.625 .
Q: 9. Is the focuser and the primary mirror threaded together? meaning are they coupled in such a way, when the focuser moves primary mirror moves with it? Thanks
A: No, when using the iOptron Photron 250mm f/8 Ritchey-Chrétien Catadioptric Telescope the focuser and the primary mirror are not threaded together. iOptron describes it this way: "With the primary mirror fixed in place, iOptron installed a precise two-speed Crayford-style focuser with a 10:1 reducer that allows for fast coarse and precise fine focusing without the backlash that occurs in the more common rack-and-pinion design—essential for astrophotography or splitting objects that are close together, like binary stars."
Q: 10. What type of finder scope and diagonal are required to use this scope? As in, what are the specifications to purchase the right items to fit on the scope?
A: On the diagonal. You have to decide on 45 degrees or 90 degrees. also a regular diagonal or an erecting prism diagonal. When you look through a telescope the view is always inverted with out the use of some kind of erecting device. B&H most popular finder scope is the Celestron StarPointer Finderscope BH #CEFSSP • MFR #51630 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202036-REG/Celestron_51630_Star_Pointer_Finderscope.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/202036-REG/Celestron_51630_Star_Pointer_Finderscope.html
