The SP25B Acoustic Bass Microphone from AMT is designed to accurately reproduce acoustic bass. Designed for crucial recording or professional sound reinforcement applications, the SP25B features a high quality condenser element with a tight cardioid polar pattern. The result is an audio signal with rich, accurate detail and minimal noise caused by adjacent instruments, monitors and room ambiance.

The SP25B comes with the AP40 floor preamp, which includes an XLR output. The external power module enables a sleek, low-profile microphone design that provides easy positioning without damage to the instrument's surface. The attachment mechanism is designed to clasp to the instrument without damage to the instrument's finish. A flexible 10-inch gooseneck allows easy positioning over the sound hole. The microphone itself features a 4-point isolation suspension system that eliminates handling and surface noise.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have the Rode videomic pro for my DSLR camera. Would this Rode NTG microphone provide better sound recording when shooting videos?

A: The specifications on the two mics are very similar, and the tonal characteristics will be similar, too. The big difference is that the Video Mic Pro can handle a higher SPL, and is a bit more sensitive.

Q: 2. Can this be used to interface with an Android smartphone?

A: Yes, the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder can be used as an audio interface to connect to an Android smartphone.

Q: 3. Does this mic need phantom power?

A: Yes this particular JVC mic requires phantom power to record audio.. If your using a pro camera it'll have the option to power it. No battery compartment in microphone to power it either..

Q: 4. What case is recommended for this?

A: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1306485-REG/auray_wmc_500_eva_case_for_wide.html

Q: 5. This DeadCat for VideoMic Pro Plus? In the picture is not VideoMic Pro Plus. Can it fit VMPR+ ?

A: Yes it replaces the foam mic on the pro plus.

Q: 6. Will this work with GoPro 7 Black ? Does it need different mount ?

A: As already mentioned, this will only work with GoPro cameras with a micro-usb port. The Gopro 5, 6, and presumably the new 7 have usb-c ports. I have been unable to find an adapter which would allow for that connection.

Q: 7. Does the deadcat go on over the foam or the foam is taken off and replaces the foam?

A: You would take off the foam, and replace it with this windjammer.

Q: 8. Can you use this with the Rode NTG mic?

A: No, the RODE DeadCat VMPR+ is designed only for the Rode VideoMic Pro Plus. This microphone's abnormal shape means that this windscreen will not fit the form factor of typical shotgun microphones. BH #AUWSWVMNTG or BH #ROWS11 would be recommended for the VideoMic NTG.

Q: 9. would this also work with a boom pole?

A: This shock mount is designed specifically to be inserted into a hot shoe of a camera. I would recommend the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles, B&H # RYUSGM. This model, which features a Duo-Lyre Cradle, is designed for use with a boom pole or to be mounted on a camera.

Q: 10. Will this fit an MXL BCD-1?

A: I'm not sure that it will because the MXL-BCD-1 doesn't have a threaded end where the XLR cable plugs in. The way the mic is held into this mount is using a threaded washer. If you look at the Rode Procaster Mic (ROPROCASTER), you can see how there is a treaded washer at the end where you would mount into the shockmount. The BCD-1 has that additional bracket that almost replaces the need for a shockmount. Not sure this is the right product for the mic you have.
