This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity. A: In my opinion (as an amateur), it is not easy to set up. You have to first collimate it before you can see anything, and that requires taking the thing apart a little. We have someone from the museum teaching us how to use it or we likely wouldnt be able to figure it out ourselves. Our telescope tutor says it really is a great beginner telescope so if you can find someone who knows what they are doing then it shouldnt be too terrible.
