The beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired Hirose 4-Pin Connector for Audio-Technica Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.
Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a Hirose 4-pin connector for direct connection to an Audio-Technica ATW-T1801, ATW-T27, ATW-T31, ATW-T51, ATW-T201, ATW-T210, ATW-T210a, ATW-T310, or ATW-T310b wireless bodypack transmitter for use with 200 Series, 1100 Series, 1400 Series, 1800 Series, 2000 Series, 2000A Series, 3000 Series, or 3000A Series wireless systems.
Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does anyone know why Alkaline batteries are recommended instead of lithium?
A: Litium batteries may be used as well: Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries (1.5V, 3500mAh, 4-Pack) B&H # ENAALU4: https://bhpho.to/2UQXceR Key Features: Weighs 33% Less Than Alkaline Batteries Holds Power for 20 Years Operating Temperature: -40 to 140°F Leakproof Construction
Q: 2. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?
A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.
Q: 3. Has anyone tried the built-in mic? Is it good? Compare to the Zoom H6's built-in mic? Thanks
A: Its not bad! I wouldn't use it as a primary mic, but its good for nat sound and stuff like that. Its a little better than the h4n built in mic. I havent used the h6
Q: 4. Has anyone actually recorded the looped output to a DSLR like a GH4, Nikon D800 or 5DmkII or III? If so, what settings on the DR-70 camera output and the camera's mic input did you use? The Nikon and Canon have best S/N if their manual inputs are set to 1. Can you adjust the DR-70's output to provide a good level on the camera with the camera input set to 1 ?
A: Yes, I went from the 70D to a Atomos Blade via the stereo mini line I/O. I used my FP24 mixer stereo mini to go to a Canon 70D via tape return so you will do fine.
Q: 5. Will this unit handle Line level inputs or just mic level inputs???
A: The Tascam DR70D is able to accept mic or line level signals via the XLR/TRS combo jacks. Input settings are accessible in the menu.
Q: 6. can you monitor each channel input separated? like in the dr60
A: One online YouTube reviewer says this is not possible. I have not independently verified. This might change depending on firmware, although the capability would not be very useful if the feature cannot be utilized on the fly during recording, not simply presented by menu choices.
Q: 7. Does this recorder support exFAT file system? Does it have a limit to file size? Some recorders break and restart new files at a 2gig limit. Can you make a 3, or 5 or 8 gig single audio file?
A: No, the F2 records 32-bit float WAV file format and is BWF compatible. It records to microSD cards up to 512 GB maximum. The recording continues until you press the stop button and does not automatically break in the middle to start a new file so you can make 3, 4, or 5 GB single recorded audio files.
Q: 8. Power cable besides batteries?
A: An AC power adapter/cable is not included. The included USB cable may be used with this optional adapter that is available at an additional cost:The PS-P515U AC to USB Power Adapter from Tascam is a convenient adapter that allows you to power a USB device from an AC power outlet. It is ideal for portable audio recorders, allowing you to run them for hours without worrying about battery life.
Q: 9. When mounted to a DSLR, does the DR-70D pick up noise from handling/moving the camera?
A: There is no handling noise transferred to the DR-70D in normal operation. If the internal mics are active, then the possibility may exist.
Q: 10. Is it possible to pan the 4 channels L-R like a 4-2 mixer? I often record high-school plays/musicals with X-Y stereo array (hard L-R), a shotgun (equal (L-R) and an omni pzm up-stage (equal L-R). It would be nice to mix it up-front like that, record into the A-cam and be done.
A: You can set the left-right position of each recording channel with the PAN item on the BASIC screen.
