The beige B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with Locking 3.5mm Connector for AKG Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a water-resistant, miniature lavalier microphone for capturing high-quality audio. It can be used in a variety applications such as a tie-clip lavalier in interviews, a hair-hidden mic for drama, a water-resistant mic for water sports and hurricane reporting, or simply a small mic to hide in a prop flower vase.

The capsule is resistant to moisture, which allows for placement in the hair or on bare skin, and its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise, and plosives (popping). Furthermore, a variety of skin-matching colors are available. The B3's cable terminates to a locking 3.5mm connector for direct connection to an AKG PT51, PT300, or PT900 wireless bodypack transmitter. Additionally, a carrying case, two cable clips, a windscreen, and three protective caps are also included.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B3 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt-tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B3 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B3 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 150 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B3 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The XLR inputs are combo jacks meaning I could also use those same inputs with TRS cables, correct?

A: Correct, however, you will want to be careful using Phantom power with TRS cables due to the way they connect. They can cause shorts in the signal and damage your unit.

Q: 2. Can I use a Sennheiser ew 100 ENG G3 Wireless Microphone System Combo - B (626-668 MHz) with the DR-70D?

A: The Sennheiser Combo system ships with output cables that will allow you to connect the receiver to the Tascam DR70D via XLR or 3.5mm input jacks.

Q: 3. Will this unit handle Line level inputs or just mic level inputs???

A: The Tascam DR70D is able to accept mic or line level signals via the XLR/TRS combo jacks. Input settings are accessible in the menu.

Q: 4. How does this compare to Zoom H6? Thanks!

A: Works great and I recomend both the Dr-70D and the H6. I have had no issues with either unit.Ron WhittingA F ProductionsTyler,Texas

Q: 5. can you monitor each channel input separated? like in the dr60

A: One online YouTube reviewer says this is not possible. I have not independently verified. This might change depending on firmware, although the capability would not be very useful if the feature cannot be utilized on the fly during recording, not simply presented by menu choices.

Q: 6. Can this be mounted from underneath? Obviously the screw-in tap will attach it to the bottom of a DSLR, but can the 70D be mounted onto the top of something else?

A: You can mount the 70D on the bottom of a DSLR with mounting screw. The unit also has a mounting screw underneath, so you can mount ontop of camera, tripod, etc.

Q: 7. Are the 4 tracks recorded separately or is it a final stereo track?

A: Mixed down to stereo.

Q: 8. Has anyone tried the built-in mic? Is it good? Compare to the Zoom H6's built-in mic? Thanks

A: Its not bad! I wouldn't use it as a primary mic, but its good for nat sound and stuff like that. Its a little better than the h4n built in mic. I havent used the h6

Q: 9. Setting up the input gain on my recently purchased TAscam DR-70D.If I want to use the built in mics do I set input gain to line or mic?

A: You set the input to MIC for 3 / 4 and then have and option of low high or high+ for the gain.I find that high works for most situations rather well. High+ is pretty hot -

Q: 10. Can this be used as a sound with sound recorder? Could record two tracks, then add three and four while listening to the first two? [to add instruments or narration]?

A: Yes, the DR-70D is a 4-track multi-track recorder so you can overdub additional tracks.
