The white B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired 1-Pin LEMO Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 1-pin LEMO connector for direct connection to a Sennheiser BF 1083 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this have USB out to use for audio source interface for a computer?

A: The USB is only for file transfers. This will not work as a real time interface.

Q: 2. Setting up the input gain on my recently purchased TAscam DR-70D.If I want to use the built in mics do I set input gain to line or mic?

A: You set the input to MIC for 3 / 4 and then have and option of low high or high+ for the gain.I find that high works for most situations rather well. High+ is pretty hot -

Q: 3. Question about input sources: under Basic menu, are you able to set CH1 to EXT_Power and CH2 to XLR? Everything I change CH1, CH2 changes to the same thing. Same with CH3/4. I can't have CH3 set to Mic and CH4 set to XLR.

A: I don't think that's possible since the non-XLR inputs are balanced stereo jacks. I'd assume channel separation is only possible with recorders featuring separate, unbalanced pairs of TRS inputs.

Q: 4. Is it possible to pan the 4 channels L-R like a 4-2 mixer? I often record high-school plays/musicals with X-Y stereo array (hard L-R), a shotgun (equal (L-R) and an omni pzm up-stage (equal L-R). It would be nice to mix it up-front like that, record into the A-cam and be done.

A: You can set the left-right position of each recording channel with the PAN item on the BASIC screen.

Q: 5. Would this recorder be good with a parabolic collector dish and microphone?

A: Isaiah H,We would agree with Catalin R's response.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 6. Can I record a stereo signal (Rde Stereo VMP with 3.5 mm jack) along with a mono shotgun (Rde VMP with 3.5mm-XLR adapter)? My whole interest in the DR-70D is to be able to do this. I know this unit has the right jacks, but I want to make sure there aren't any recording mode or software limitations that won't allow this.

A: Yes will work fine.

Q: 7. Has anyone had any audio sync issues when you take the audio files back into a editing program like Final Cut Pro or Adobe? I have had issues with past Tascam audio files. The audio would seem to go out of sync from the video by several frames after about 45 min or so. I with that had a timecode input.

A: When dealing with audio and video files of this length and not syncing to code, drift is inevitable. Both devices are recording files using their internal clock sources which will vary in accuracy. If you are only experiencing drift at the 45 minute mark, this is actually impressive. Unfortunately without the ability to lock to code or clock, you will not achieve perfect sync.

Q: 8. Can I use internal mics and a phantom powered condenser at the same time?So two channels will have the signal from the builtin mics on the front and a third channel will record from an XLR input that gets phantom power? Thanks.

A: Yes, when your managing the settings prior to recording you can choose phantom power for a particular channel. By going to the menu then to your input you can between LINE MIC or MIC + PHANTOM . It doesn't interfere with signals for mics not using phantom power. It's quite nice.

Q: 9. Power cable besides batteries?

A: An AC power adapter/cable is not included. The included USB cable may be used with this optional adapter that is available at an additional cost:The PS-P515U AC to USB Power Adapter from Tascam is a convenient adapter that allows you to power a USB device from an AC power outlet. It is ideal for portable audio recorders, allowing you to run them for hours without worrying about battery life.

Q: 10. My 70D turns off automatically unless i'm recording , how do i turn this off so it will stay when just being used as a mixer?

A: The Tascam DR-70D 6-Input / 4-Track Multi-Track Field Recorder with Onboard Omni Microphones has a "Auto Power Save" function that may be causing the device to power off as described. To change this setting, take the following menu path: MENU--OTHERS--SYSTEM--AUTO POWER SAVE.
