Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens be used with the canon 5dm2

A: Yes!

Q: 2. Is this compatible with a canon eos rebel xs?

A: Yes, its compatible. However because the sensor is not full frame there will be a magnification factor. That results in the image being closer than a 135MM would appear in a full frame camera. This is an amazingly good lens. Well worth the cost.

Q: 3. I have a canon 600D camera and I an looking for a telephoto lense, wondering if I should get the canon 70-200 f/2.8 or this one.

A: I have both lenses. While the 70-200 is heavy (like 3 lbs) it is by far my favorite and most versatile lens. Its very sharp for a telephoto and versatile and image stabilize. The latter lens is not image stabilized, although it is very sharp. It also is a fixed lens which makes it less versatile. The only downside for the 70-200 is the cost, which is substantial. I've had mine for more than 10 years and still love it!!!

Q: 4. Can two compact light stands fit in the outside pockets on each side?

A: The Manfrotto Advanced III 20L Rolling Camera Bag can hold many things. It is not specifically made to hold light stands. It very well might hold stands on the side of the case. But chances are the pouches are not not large enough for most stands.

Q: 5. Why would you use an extender for this lense (Canon ef 135 f/2L usm)?

A: If you are referring to an extension tube, one would use an extension tube with the Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM lens if they were trying to capture macro images or focus closer on a subject than the lens' minimum focus distance will allow by itself. If you are referring to a teleconverter, one would use a teleconverter to increase the lens' apparent focal length or reach. A 1.4x teleconverter would give the lens an equivalent 189mm f/2.8 lens appearance; a 2x teleconverter would give the lens an equivalent 270mm f/4 lens appearance.

Q: 6. Is has is 2 version like Nikon 200mm f 2 vr 2? Plz tell the answer anybody

A: This lens is using Canon first iteration of Image Stabilization.

Q: 7. Is this lens Image Stabilized?

A: No it is not.

Q: 8. HELP!!! I dearly love my Canon 135mm f2 lens, and, due to the weight difference between it and that of the 60D/6D cameras with which it's used, I'm wondering if it's possible to use a tripod collar for this lens, and if so, which tripod collar would fit (Canon 135mm f2 ?). Thanks Beverley.

A: Hi Beverley, I haven't used a collar for this lens before. I did a quick search on the web for and couldn't find a specific collar that works with this lens. You can ask (call, or chat) B&H staff. They are very knowledgeable about these products. Good Luck!

Q: 9. While this lens doesn't have specific dust and moisture resistent construction, Canon states that all L-lenses have a certain degree of weather protection. For those that have used this lens outside, have you found any issues? (e.g. with cold, mist, light rain?) I currently have a 5D IV with 50mm f/1.2 which is all weather-sealed.

A: I did not have any issues with this lens yet

Q: 10. This doesn't look image stabilized, and I was interested in purchasing this for cinematography to capture some unique shots with awesome aperture, without the 70-200 hassle. Has anyone used it for such? It seem like 135mm is a bit much for this use without an IS.

A: An IS is useful when you photograph on exposures lower than 1/80 NY hands. When your camera is on the stand - you should turn off IS. It means that for professional video the IS is useless.
