The cocoa B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sens, with Hardwired 3.5mm Locking Connector for AKG Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.
Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to an AKG PT51, PT300, or PT900 wireless bodypack transmitter.
Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.

Q: 1. Does the DR 70D allow for external power source. If so, what is needed that it didn't come with please?
A: Yes the Tascam dr-70D does allow for an external power source via the USB port on the left side of the product. I am currently using a Cygnett portable powerbank Cell with 11000mAh. i can record on it for 8 hours plus while it provides Phantom power to one XLR port. I havent been in a situation to run all four XLR ports on Phantom power yet to see how long the powerbank can last. I also still use 4 fully charged AA batteries cause if the powerbank runs out i still will have the batteries to safety my recordings just incase it runs out halfway why recording.
Q: 2. How does this compare to Zoom H6? Thanks!
A: Works great and I recomend both the Dr-70D and the H6. I have had no issues with either unit.Ron WhittingA F ProductionsTyler,Texas
Q: 3. Can I use internal mics and a phantom powered condenser at the same time?So two channels will have the signal from the builtin mics on the front and a third channel will record from an XLR input that gets phantom power? Thanks.
A: Yes, when your managing the settings prior to recording you can choose phantom power for a particular channel. By going to the menu then to your input you can between LINE MIC or MIC + PHANTOM . It doesn't interfere with signals for mics not using phantom power. It's quite nice.
Q: 4. Does this have USB out to use for audio source interface for a computer?
A: The USB is only for file transfers. This will not work as a real time interface.
Q: 5. Setting up the input gain on my recently purchased TAscam DR-70D.If I want to use the built in mics do I set input gain to line or mic?
A: You set the input to MIC for 3 / 4 and then have and option of low high or high+ for the gain.I find that high works for most situations rather well. High+ is pretty hot -
Q: 6. Can you recharge rechargeable AA batteries in the Tascam or do you have to recharge separately?
A: You will have to recharge batteries out of the recorder on a seperate wall charger.
Q: 7. Hello , I recently bought a Tascam dr 70d in bhphotoand I want to know how? to monitor independent mics entries in record mode and pause mode1.01 0044
A: there is no switch to play the tracks separately, which is a shame ...Looking forward to the next generation
Q: 8. Has anyone actually recorded the looped output to a DSLR like a GH4, Nikon D800 or 5DmkII or III? If so, what settings on the DR-70 camera output and the camera's mic input did you use? The Nikon and Canon have best S/N if their manual inputs are set to 1. Can you adjust the DR-70's output to provide a good level on the camera with the camera input set to 1 ?
A: Yes, I went from the 70D to a Atomos Blade via the stereo mini line I/O. I used my FP24 mixer stereo mini to go to a Canon 70D via tape return so you will do fine.
Q: 9. Has anyone had any audio sync issues when you take the audio files back into a editing program like Final Cut Pro or Adobe? I have had issues with past Tascam audio files. The audio would seem to go out of sync from the video by several frames after about 45 min or so. I with that had a timecode input.
A: When dealing with audio and video files of this length and not syncing to code, drift is inevitable. Both devices are recording files using their internal clock sources which will vary in accuracy. If you are only experiencing drift at the 45 minute mark, this is actually impressive. Unfortunately without the ability to lock to code or clock, you will not achieve perfect sync.
Q: 10. How many hours of recording time (when using standard Engergizer or Duracell AA batteries) if you were to record all 4 tracks at 24 bit 96 khz?
A: Using alkaline batteries with general usage, built in mics, or non powered mics, the Tascam DR-70D should be able to achieve 5-6 hours operation time. Using phantom power with multiple mics connected can reduce your battery life up to 60%.
