The Formatt 127mm Supermist Black 2 Filter is a great portrait filter since it diffuses minute details of a photo and reduces the overall contrast. This filter creates milder diffusion than a standard Supermist with one of the benefits being that it does not open up shadow areas as much.

Anyone who shoots portraits should have a diffusion filter in their bag and the Supermist Black gives you the freedom to create the most flattering images.

Formatt, a company with three generations of professional filter-making experience produces every filter to the highest technical standards. The finest materials, together with state of-the-art production technology have resulted in a standard of optical excellence unmatched anywhere else.

Q: 1. I NEED A COUNTER WEIGHT AND EXTENSION BAR FOR MAY POWER SEEKER 127EQ HOW CAN I GET THE PARTS NUMBERS AND ORDER THE PARTS.THANK YOU DJ ?

A: Please contact our technical support team and a representative will be able to assist you in finding the right parts. The best way to reach them is by submitting a ticket here: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support

Q: 2. What type of focuser does this unit have? Is it a bird Jones?

A: The scope is outfitted with a 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser.

Q: 3. My powerseeker eq does not have a latitude lock what can i do?

A: I would recommend getting in touch with Celestron directly with this inquiry. CelestronTel: 310-328-9560 or 310-803-5955 Website http://www.celestron.com/

Q: 4. Can this telescope be used with a DSLR for astrophotography?

A: Theoretically yes. You would need parts that don't come with the telescope, like some kind of lens adapter. Also a kit to motorize the mount, if you're doing any kind of long exposure. It does come with a manual that offers tips for that sort of thing.

Q: 5. Is this easy to setup? I have never worked with a telescope before and am not much of a camera person.

A: In my opinion (as an amateur), it is not easy to set up. You have to first collimate it before you can see anything, and that requires taking the thing apart a little. We have someone from the museum teaching us how to use it or we likely wouldnt be able to figure it out ourselves. Our telescope tutor says it really is a great beginner telescope so if you can find someone who knows what they are doing then it shouldnt be too terrible.

Q: 6. What can i see with this?, my other telescope is a 40$ scope and i can barely focus on the moon with it. is this able to view stars easy with faint village sized community lights?

A: So it really depends on your sky and the clarity. This is a great scope for the price point. I would recommend not using this where there are street lights. The image will be fuzzy, and distorted.

Q: 7. Who uses it for photography thats what I am looking for I will be mounting a Nikon D700 and am looking for clean crisp photos?

A: This scope would be good for taking a clear photos. The mount takes into effect, but that's if you are really trying to get more advanced. I would start with this first for shooting photos. You would need 2 adapters to attach your Nikon D700 Camera onto. The first would be the Celestron-SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter. Website link: a href= http://bhpho.to/1lwAhIO target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1lwAhIO/aThen you would need a T-Ring which would adapt your Nikon D700 onto the T-Adapter. Vello Lens Mount Adapter-T-Mount Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera would be perfect. Website link: a href= http://bhpho.to/1d8lKOS target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1d8lKOS/a

Q: 8. Does this telescope have a attachment for cell phones to take pictures?

A: You can purchase a Smartphone Adapter as an Accessory. If you click on "Accessories", then scroll down to "Smartphone Adapters" you will see all the compatible Adapters for this Scope.

Q: 9. Will a Cell phone hook up to it for pictures?

A: Yes, one can connect a smartphone to the Celestron NexStar 127SLT 127mm f/12 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope with an adapter. A very good option would be the Celestron NexYZ DX 3-Axis Smartphone Digiscoping Kit, BH #CENEXYZDXK (https://bhpho.to/3EHROPn).

Q: 10. what kind of things can i see with this, without needed to buy any extras?

A: Bottom line is buy this set! The telescope, tripod, equatorial mount, software and rd flashlight is worth EVERY penny. To be honest, you'll have to buy additional eyepieces. The 4mm eyepiece is not useful with this telescope because of the aperture and focal length. I suggest buying a quality zoom eyepiece (one piece but includes five or six different magnification stops) and a shorty 2x Barlow. With these, you can see Jupiter and its striated atmosphere AND several of its moons (the number of visible moons depends on the time of year. I've seen Jupiter and four of its moons ibn the same field of view). You can see Mars and its varying shades of brownish red. You can see Saturn and its rings. With the 2x Barlow, you can see the space between the planet and its rings!Observing the moon with the eyepiece I've suggested will absolutely knock your socks off! In fact, observing the moon from half to full is so bright you may want to consider buying a moon filter. It's not necessary but you'll understand once you've marveled at the full moon! You may even be able to observe nebulae, galaxies and clusters. I've had my telescope, the same one you're considering, since early June and because of where I live and the time of year, I haven't been able to view any of those yet.The day my telescope arrived and using only the contents on the box, I spent hours looking at the moon. I lost track of time because I was mesmerized. At about 2am, my wife came outside and told me I had to quiet down (I was oohing and ahhing, pretty loudly I'm told!) I was so taken, I had several telescope parties over the summer, inviting every friend who expressed an interest. EVERY person that looked through the eyepiece voiced their amazement at what they were observing. The loudest oohs and ahs came from looking at Saturn and the moon. I must disclose that for the parties i was using my zoom eyepiece and the 2x shorty Barlow. What I'm saying is BUY IT! It's a fantastic telescope for beginners and intermediates.Enjoy!
