The 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Sony E Mount from Rokinon is a manual focus telephoto prime lens useful for portraiture and most telephoto applications. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is effective in low light and enables shallow depth of field control. With a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, shallow depth of field imaging will be rendered with pleasing out-of-focus highlights. Compatible with both full frame and APS-C format mirrorless E mount cameras, this lens provides a 35mm focal length equivalence of 202.5mm when used on APS-C cameras. Its minimum focus distance is 2.6'.

The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters.

A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I just ordered this lens and considering it's weight, I wonder what a good tripod collar would be for this lens since I'm using it with a Canon 5DS on a camera stand?

A: There isn't a specific collar for this lens, however you can get a universal collar made by Manfrotto; https://bhpho.to/2bwh1Ow

Q: 2. Does the lens have Manual Focus Confirmation on Sony E mount ?

A: The lens does not have a focus confirmation chip. The Sony A7, A7R, A7S and A7II can be set up for focus peaking. That way you can get a confirmation on the focus with pretty much any manual lens.

Q: 3. Can achieve Zone Focusing on a Samyang/Rokinon 135mmf/2.0 and it's a smart/doable thing to do for sports photography?

A: I highly recommend you to buy a lens which allows you to use a AF for sports in general. Chances are most of your pictures will be blury, out of focus, if you use this lens - specially in f2. I've bought it six months ago and I personally love this lens, but I wouldn't use it for this purpose. Or at least not if you aim to have Zone Focusing.

Q: 4. Can the Fuji 1.4x TC be used with this lens? Thanks!

A: No, it cannot.

Q: 5. How much does this lens weigh?

A: This lens weighs approximately 830 grams.

Q: 6. Could this lens be good for indoor weddings and portraits?

A: This will be good for lowlight and indoor environments however it is manual focus lens, it may slow you down for weddings and event shoots.

Q: 7. Will the exposure be shown (caculated) when used on the A7II?

A: Yes in. M. A modes.

Q: 8. I'm finding conflicting information online. Does this work with the Sony FE mount on the Sony a7 series?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens for Sony E Mount would be compatible for use on the Sony A7 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 9. This is a fixed (prime) lens correct?

A: Yes, this is a prime lens.

Q: 10. I'm shooting indoor weddings and portraitsbetween the two Rokinon 50mm or 135mm, which lens is best to purchase first?

A: I love my Rokinon 135mm. If you need the reach of the 135, I would recommend getting it. If you feel the equivalent of 200mm full frame is too much then get the 50mm. There is no downside to owning this lens.

Great lens. Incredibly sharp images and beautiful colors. I grew up using manual lenses. Having camera with focus peaking and magnifier is a great help.

I bought this lens for deep sky astrophotography, on the recommendation of numerous other astrophotographers. So far, the quality has been excellent. I haven't noticed any distortion or artifact. I will be using it a lot more on a star tracker, but the weather hasn't been cooperating.

Fantastic lens for the price. Almost zero distortion. Chromatic aberration can happen, but only in the most extreme circumstances.

The Samyang 135mm f/2 lens is very sharp and has nice bokeh, exactly why I purchased it. It is MF only and does not have OIS so the exposure triangle must be addressed every time, but the results are outstanding.

This lens punches well above it's price point! I highly recommend it! Amazing bokeh and subject isolation is what you get with this lens! Images are sharp and punchy!

fantastically sharp lens for not much money. Has great contrast and has a nice focus ring with solid aperture clicks. I was worried about a manual focus lens but this lens makes me forget every time i shoot with it. Great great great but a bit large and heavy.

I've always been a fan of Samyang glass, but would wait until reviews by others before I make my purchase. Well, this time I decided to get one first. Bought it from B&H in February 2015... I don't know why it's back on preorder now. Even with Focus Peaking, I sometimes miss crucial shots because FP isn't always entirely accurate. This makes candid shots and tracking moving subjects a bit difficult. However, when I have enough time, ooooh boy this lens shines! The focus ring is a bit stiffer than my Samyang 35mm. It makes minute focus adjustments more accurate in my opinion. Sharpness is definitely satisfactory (for me) and the out of focus blur is pleasant. The close MFD makes it great to shoot smaller animals, flowers up close; and the 135mm FL is great for pleasing subject/background separation. At times, I DO wish it had autofocus, like the Canon 135L, but at half the price, I really can't complain. The lens, along with the adapter made for the Sony E mount, makes this big and heavy. It's just as long (and about as heavy) as the Sony FE 70-200mm.

I love this lens. True, it's manual focus only, but that's how I do my critical work anyway.

Funny how this Samyang gets 4 1/2 stars and the exactly same lens under the Rokinon name gets 5. They are the same lens and they are both wonderful. Very sharp, easy to focus (with peaking on my Fuji), not too heavy, and budget-friendly. To me just perfect.

I say, go for it. Even if 135mm is not a lens you use all the time, there will certainly be times when you'll need it. And you can have this one at a great price.
