This 105mm Coarse Tiffen ND Filter is a solid ND filter with a filter factor of 6x that provides a 2.6-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. if I'm doing astrophotography with this lens, and what to focus at infinity, how would I do that?

A: The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens doesn't have a hard stop so you point to a distant subject and rotate the focus ring. Once it locks the focus, the camera will indicate that the subject is in focus. You can also point the camera to the sky and use the same technique. You can use the LCD screen and zoom in to make sure the subject is in focus. Q: 2. Does it come with a top and bottom lens cap?

A: Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens BH #SO181054 comes with a front and a rear lens caps.

Q: 3. I have terrible experience with motorized lenses. They seem to stop moving. Is this a reliable lens? And is it loud? Will the motor be recorded in the mic during video?

A: Fantastic lens. For the price you'd be hard pressed to do better. When recording audio from a rode mic attached to my camera I can't hear the motor. I've never shot video using the in camera mic though. Also this thing is stout. In the past year I've had it 14,000ft in the snowy mountains, shot with it in the Gobi, shot on the beach, and in the rain. It's still working great. Whenever this one eventually dies I 100% plan on buying another.

Q: 4. Can this lens be used on the Canon R10 mirrorless camera? If yes, what will the equivalent focal length be????

A: The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens can be used on the Canon R10. The focal lenght will be the equivalent of a 38mm-168mm lens.

Q: 5. When zooming, does the lens change in length?

A: It zooms internally, so the lens is a fixed size.

Q: 6. Canon's announcement says this is for the following cameras: EOS R50, EOS R8, and EOS R6 Mark II. Would it also work on the R5?

A: Unfortunately Canon OC-E4A Off-Camera Multi-Function Shoe Cord (2.6') is not compatible with the Canon R5. That camera does not have the multi function shoe.

Q: 7. Is it compatible with the CA-XLR2d from Tascam ?

A: Yes, you will be able to use this with the CA-XLR2d from Tascam.

Q: 8. I bought this lens for my Sony a6000. The power zoom does not wok. Is it normal or a defective lens?.

A: try updating the lens and camera firmware and then try if it still doesn't work then you may want to return it for a new one. I have bothe the a6000 and a6300 and the lens works perfectly on both of them.

Q: 9. Is this a good lens to photograph babies and toddlers both inside (low light) and outside? Or should I invest in another lens? I am not a professional.

A: The Canon RF 24-105 F/4L IS USM lens will work well to take pictures of babies and toddlers inside in low light and also outside. It is a very sharp lens with fast focusing and the zoom range gives you a lot of flexibility when framing.

Q: 10. Sold my 18-200 PZ lens because the zoom was so loud on my A6500 and was picked up on the internal mic when shooting indoors. How does the 18-105 servo compare noise-wise?

A: I have found my 18-105 very quiet and very smooth. The fixed f4 is also very nice.
