Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this come with the rackmount kit as shown in the picture?

A: The Rack Mount kit is a separate option.

Q: 2. will this 1080p ?

A: The Blackmagic Design ATEM Camera Converter has nothing to do with resolution.

Q: 3. Can I connect a BMPCC6K to this via HDMI, with the SDI Out going into the ATEM Talkback Converter 4K (and subsequently to the ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K), the SDI In coming from the converter, and the HDMI out going to a monitor without any hitches?

A: The Camera Converter only connects to the Talkback Converter using dual fiber for full functionality.

Q: 4. Can this device send program out through one of the four fiber channels? (3 Cameras in, 1 program out)

A: Yes it can.

Q: 5. Where are the tally LEDs? I don't see them on the photos.

A: According to Blackmagic "When a camera is on air a red LED illuminates on the ATEM Camera Converter and a red tally border is displayed on the converter's SDI and HDMI monitoring outputs!" https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/atemconverters

Q: 6. Would this work with the Panasonic Lumix G7 kit lens? (14mm-42mm)

A: The Olympus WCON-P01 Wide Converter was specifically designed for use with the Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II kit lens or the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 II R. lens. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm this converter would be compatible for us with your Panasonic lens.

Q: 7. Is there a single mode Fiber Camera Extension for black magic? If these are at a stadium and my control room is 1/2 mile away?

A: Currently there is no Blackmagic single mode fiber extension for the Blackmagic Design Studio Fiber Converter. You may wish to consider the Sony Single Mode Fiber Camera Extension Adapter BH #SOHDCE100 • MFR #HDCE100.

Q: 8. Can I use the ATEM Camera Converter as talkback even without a video input? We're planning to acquire the Talkback Converter 4K which has 8 i/o and connect 3-4 non-BMD cameras to it. We're curious if we can use the camera converter's talkback capability as communication devices with our audio guy and other crew.

A: If you are not going to feed PGM back to the cameras, you should simply feed one of the camera outputs on the Talkback Converter to the PGM In and use the loop to your switcher. That way there is a signal feeding back to all cameras that will carry talkback.

Q: 9. Does the ATEM-CONV carry 4 channels of audio, specifically ch1, ch2, ch3 and ch4?

A: The Blackmagic Design ATEM Camera Converter carries two channels ( Ch1 and Ch2) of audio for stereo support.

Q: 10. Will this unit work with the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K?

A: Yes, I've used it with 4 BMD Studio 4K cameras and Hyperdeck Studio Pro 2 to record in 4K
