The black B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with TA4F Connector for Electro-Voice Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a water-resistant, miniature lavalier microphone for capturing high-quality audio. It can be used in a variety of applications such as a tie-clip lavalier in interviews, a hair-hidden mic for drama, a water-resistant mic for water sports and hurricane reporting, or simply a small mic to hide in a prop flower vase.

The capsule is resistant to moisture, which allows for placement in the hair or on bare skin, and its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise, and plosives (popping). Furthermore, a variety of skin-matching colors are available. The B3's cable terminates to an Electro-Voice connector for direct connection to an Electro-Voice 3000 Series, N/DYM NBPU, MSB, BPV, BPU, BPU2, CSB-1000, RE-1, RE-2, or BP-300 wireless bodypack transmitter. Additionally, a carrying case, two cable clips, a windscreen, and three protective caps are also included.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B3 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B3 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B3 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 150 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B3 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Q: 1. Are the 4 tracks capable of recording simultaneously?

A: The Tascam DR70D is able to record all 4 XLR mic inputs simultaneously.

Q: 2. Can you solo tracks while recording and playing back?

A: Each track is independant can be on or off and generate his own file

Q: 3. This DR-70D has a dual record function, which allows you to record a 2nd track at a quieter volume of the same input channel. Does this work when recording all 4 inputs? Is it able to record all 4 inputs separately and at the same time, record them at a lower level? It would actually be recording 8 separate audio files then.

A: Robin M gave the correct answer.Unit details available here:a href= http://tascam.com/product/dr-70d/overview/ target= _blank http://tascam.com/product/dr-70d/overview//aThank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 6. Does the DR 70D allow for external power source. If so, what is needed that it didn't come with please?

A: Yes the Tascam dr-70D does allow for an external power source via the USB port on the left side of the product. I am currently using a Cygnett portable powerbank Cell with 11000mAh. i can record on it for 8 hours plus while it provides Phantom power to one XLR port. I havent been in a situation to run all four XLR ports on Phantom power yet to see how long the powerbank can last. I also still use 4 fully charged AA batteries cause if the powerbank runs out i still will have the batteries to safety my recordings just incase it runs out halfway why recording.

Q: 7. Is it better to use Lithium Ion or Alkaline batteries for this use?

A: Tascam recommends using standard alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries for the DR-70D. Lithium ion batteries are not recommended.

Q: 10. How do I input the stereo mini plug (3.5mm) from a Rode Video mic or similar . I actually only want to use it as a mono source. Do I need a mini to XLR adapter?
